Old creative OCs like flash animations, fun/dumb photoshops, early youtube videos, effort posting, etc was motivated by sharing one's creations with audiences. Now your creation will be data scraped by 100 bots before being instantly forgotten by e-algorithms upon upload, never to be seen by human eyes. Unless you've already expended serious time, capital, and effort to carve out a viable signal in all the noise. Which takes all the fun out of the endeavour so it defeats the purpose.
