What's the point of buying all that paraphernalia if it could all easily be lost in a house fire?
>>
>>108055645
Why do you sleep in your bed at night when you could die in a house fire at night?

Why type on a computer when you could get randomly shot in the head by a stray bullet during a drive by shooting?

Why post stupid questions when you're wrong?

It's hard to get a pic while it's in place, but since I needed to clean it anyway, here you go. You're not missing much else with it unplugged since I turn internal lights off where I can. Photo angle kinda sux but I wanted to keep myself out of the glass' glare as best as I could.

Here's the case I have (mine's the white variant). I don't have stickers on the rest of it, so you can get a rough idea of how it looks altogether.

>I wanted to repair my chair first, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to detach a gas-cylinder from the chair base.
it seems impossible at first because the cylinder is wedged with everything else. what you need is something that provides leverage like a 14 inch wrench or bigger. in my case i used 10" locking pliers placed tightly around the cylinder and kept hitting the handle with a hammer until it gave in.
my advice for future cylinder replacements is get something much taller, that way when it eventually fails, you can still use your chair at lowest height.

Besides a small pile of thrift store-picked ThinkPads for tinkering, my "serious" laptops are:
>an MSI Stealth G66 with an RTX 2070 Max Q; this is my travel and backup gaming PC (pic related isn't mine but I can't be fucked to take a pic of mine now)
>an HP Envy X360 from 2020; this has been my bedside laptop for a while but it's on its last legs (despite replacing and servicing multiple parts over the years)
That said, a particular standout in my ThinkPad pile is an A22m since I want to use it (with a dock) as my desktop replacement for a Win98 PC setup I'm planning.

after a few years of contemplating the monitor market, and hating very much large and wide monitor, I finally decided on ordering something that may fit my needs

the port placement is tragic, it should be at the bottom, but I will give it a shot with an angled cable

I've seen a new one in a shop in Tokyo last august. But anyway. Get a Macbook they're awesome. Dells xps were good as well, I think that's were the models before pro. But I don't know about the battery life.

Cleaning out my electronics surplus room and finally subbing in the marginal upgrades I collected over time. Replaced the right CRT with the same model as the left one and made all the top screens the same too. The PPI across the whole system is now very similar so super fullscreen looks much more correct. Unfortunately the match for the left 16:10 above the CRT still has some sort of issue so the layout isn't still exactly symmetrical. Hoping it'll be an easy fix another day.

It's normal sexual lighting actually. For some reason pictures come through particularly purple but the majority of the lighting in the room is standard warm white lighting. Those just add a hacker/cyber flair to the room. In fact the movie hackers from the 90s is a lot of my inspiration for the CRT stack.

Hello thread, I recently got a second shelf for my records so my PC stand/table thing got displaced. Though over all I think it improved the overall feeling of the room. I'm definitely either going to need a new PC case so I can take the HTPC case off it's side or get a laptop dock and construct a NAS in another room

>>
>>108089103
Yeah it would have been too far out into the room. I actually had to get a new power strip with the flush offset plug so I could slide the shelf back further.

Maybe it's cause I'm infosec. The 1005ha was the only small form factor machine back in the day where you could put the wifi card into promiscuous mode. Loaded with Kali, it was the perfect little hacker machine. Used it at a few conventions to pwn noobs

What everyone should really post a pic of is their chair. You have only two choices:

For the homos with no money, but S O V L

Your fucked coomer chair, twin size bed, and animu decoration scream "post-USSR slavic shithole".

I'd tell you how
>only little boys have their bed in the corner of the room
>Or how bad your stretched-out fitted sheets look on your mattress
>Or how cringe it is to use rifles as decorations (unless those are replicas/demil'd).
...but we both know that would be pointless because the only women who'd willingly enter this coomdungeon are related to you by blood.

aesthetically and not a drug probably a cyclic ester like succinic anhydride or phthalic anhydride. porphyrins are interesting because of how they're used in both chlorophyll for generating energy from the sun, and in heme for carrying oxygen in the blood.
