I've noticed across the board that all models are becoming more and more passive in the sense that they'll never actually add anything for you to bounce off of and you need to hold their hand and guide them way more to get anything interesting out of them.

If Pony is the new GLM: Damn, Z.AI is so cool. They had a feedback program and I guess they noticed that 4.7's writing/RP performance wasn't as good as the community desired. I haven't used openrouter since the early days when we first started exploiting that site. Is there a specific method to using the API from that site? I've put the key in the openrouter option in silly tavern. I found pony and selected it, but when I try to to chat it gives me the 400 bad request error. Are there things in ST settings that I need to tick off to make it work? Any help would be appreciated. I've been using proxies for the most part and I've been sticking to them the whole time, but I'd like to check out the new model for once.

The good thing about Claude is that you can just run it in a loop and it self corrects as long as you have metrics like tests and benchmarks, or maybe some competing product you can compare your results to.
I think that might be one of it's biggest strengths and people with free accounts or cheaper subscriptions miss that. Claude is on the level that code almost always at least compiles and from there it is like gradient descent, it just passes more and more tests with each iteration, the code gets faster and faster, or whatever metric you give him. Even if you think Claude is actually semi retarded, even a retard can make progress if he can try 100 times. Claude can just shit out 20 different solutions while I sleep, and that's with just one instance running, and in the morning I usually have something decent to work with. You just need those metrics to prevent regression, just like you need a utility function for gradient descent.
