Kek, low poly + texture will always be funny. Absolute soul.
use case?
What is the usecase for gnome? If you want something like windows you use KDE. If you want something like macOS, you use COSMIC.

>>108088262I'm sorry to say, but nothing you wrote sounded like the beginning of a calm and joyful discussion; it looked suspiciously like any other rant.

My usecase for custom views per folder on GNOME is simple.I don't want to switch view settings continuously. I want to establish a default, and if I'm on a folder with images, I want to display them in a grid. And if I'm on my downloads folder, I want to be able to more easily tell what I've downloaded yesterday, and what I downloaded before that. And if I have to fiddle to get these views everytime I use these folders, it's gonna be a mess, you know. I don't get the excuse of "well if you enable this feature it's going to make people very confused", because there's this thing called giving the option to turn this feature on or off, and it's off by default on something like Dolphin. So there's no confusion. All file managers I used have this feature as well. You're the odd ducks here. Who is it going to confuse? People who have never used a computer and just happened to stumble upon one with linux and GNOME as the DE? because that's not a whole lot of people.

>>108092135My suggestion would be that you take some time to review our Code of Conduct and think long and hard about whether concern trolling a project supported by unpaid volunteers is the best use of your time. I shall - out of good will - give you the benefit of the doubt this once but I recommend you do not test our patience further or you may find yourself excluded from our community permanently. And to everybody else who thinks it's amusing to thumbs up such blatantly frivolous comments on our issue tracker: please, desist.Issue locked.

What makes you think polygons are a metric?
Why is /g/ incapable of making a GNOME alternative instead of seething?
>>108099383you can setup a foundation and receive funds from other companies and governments. put ads (not in the software itself, but on hosting infrastructure). and like you said, put a donation behind a one-time pay and subscription based models. sell data. and many other options.as of gnome specifically, it has its own footfag foundation that pays to the devs and even non-devs.
