I am going to create my own saas product to sell b2b and then monetize it. And I'm smarter than a jeet or a /g/ neet so I can vibe code it correctly. I feel like there is a market for it even though I did not do market research (but there is no one doing the thing I want to do in the exact and advanced data-analysis type way). No, I'm not telling you my idea. But my biggest problem right now isn't technical. It's getting enough motivation to work on a project for no pay and uncertainty that it will make money. But it's a data driven schema-first ui second type project, so it would be difficult for some vibecoder to copy it.
>>108090529new copypasta
>>108090529The thing is you need social skills for that too. Jeets killed autists by taking the only space they had. When you have social skills you don't need anything else

>>108090915As long as you’re not actually risky, it’s fine. I nuked it on the first day after I got deployed, yet they still trusted me and even gave me some good advice, even though I was still in a kind of “test” mode if i am competent enough. I chose not to prolong it, though, because the job sucked and I felt stuck, and I just wanted to jump from a cliff
>>108090915Well it makes sense you’d be a utwg poster with this kind of worry

>>108091708It's so funny that you would completely miss the point of that post kek
>>108091400I know it's an irrational kind of worry, especially since I mog you in every technical sense, but my dumb brain does it anyway. Also I think it's normal to want to perform well, given it's a remote job that actually pays well.
>>108090350“The labor market may be showing signs of cooling, slightly”
It's honestly crazy how much you need to know to get a job in tech. The domain knowledge required is so vast and the interviews don't leave much room for error. It's amazing anyone can get a job at all.

You can't get a job because you're not talented.
I’m going to finish my degree, that will make me more employable surely.
>>108090350Cease attempts to find employment, and put on a maid outfit.
>>108092383>totally bypassed if you just know someone on the inside or get a referal, so going through hard technical interviews is for friendless losersAs a borderline autistic introvert I never wanted to believe this, but it's true. I thought "I'll just get this degree, that degree, this cert, do own projects" etc. What a laff. I didn't get in before/during COVID and now it's gonna be at least 10 times harder, both because the industry has changed and because I've done basically nothing since then.Inshallah, I will muster up one last solid effort at getting a datacenter bitch job or some shit before the inevitable kms.

anyone unemployed but not stressing it? currently living with my mom and she pays my bills (phone, gym, spotify/youtube/claude) and buys my food. my brother moved away so i have two room for myself, one as bedroom proper and another for my battlestation and diy stuff (3d printer, soldering setup, etc). also my father gives me money from time to time I spent traveling and going to the shooting range.really not stressing it at all, pretty chill situation so far.
>>108094797it gets more stressful once your parents start stressing you about it
>>108094797yeah my mom doesnt even stress me one bit she even says this is my gap year or something since losing my job in june. She says i should spend this time figuring out what i want to do if i want to go back to school for a masters in something else and genuinely pays for everything without stressing me loli still stress out and feel bad though...
>>108095105It’s turning into a gap decade for me. Ever since the pandemic I’ve just been bouncing off of temporary opportunities and long periods of doing nothing. No long term plan, just chilling and hoping. Biding my time working on myself and various projects if a real opportunity ever comes around.
>>108092383no friends, but I'm not a loser (losers had no skills, are bullies, or deadbeats)I got all 3 of my tech jobs without connections. I got lucky twice, and then I had enough XP and Skittles to btfo the competition
>>108095128Do you feel happy? Like is chilling for long periods worth not having any savings? Also... Spencer?
>>108090536Hey fuck you man, instead of listening to your hater bullshit I am going to create my own saas product to sell b2b and then monetize it. And I'm smarter than a jeet or a /g/ neet so I can vibe code it correctly. >>108095492I mean. I’m happy for what I do have and I feel a decent level of satisfaction when I improve my knowledge and skill level of any given topic. I’m also grateful that I’m not currently forced to commute to an office I hate or see people I dislike. But not having money or a realistic long term goal is not something that your brain can ignore for very long without sending you all kinds of warning symbols. I’m hopeful but as they say hope is not a plan. I continue to work on myself. It is what it is.

As an outsider who's looking into the possibility of getting another degree and going into tech as an alternate career to biology, how bad would the journey be to getting a job? I only know the basics of coding like python and data analysis, and even then it's stuff that a beginner could learn in a month.I like the idea of getting a work from home job in California where I can got to the beach every weekend but I get the feeling that, with competing with the millions of Americans who were also told to learn to code, and the millions of H-1Jeets who vampiric boomers love to hire who then infest companies with a mycelium network of indians who only hire indians, and the looming development of AI that is absolutely being made for the purpose of replacing 99% of programming jobs, I feel like I would just be wasting my time
>>108096008entry level is basically over, you're not getting in
>just found out that "technological evangelist" is a real jobruined my day
>>108095890cheers
>>108096008>using the word “code” as a verbStop now, you won’t make it.
>>108096008Cut your losses and learn to weld or some shit. If you absolutely insist on a 2nd degree, do some kind of actual engineering from an ABET-accredited program and pray you can get in somewhere at a big defense firm so that you don't get jeeted
>>108096204>If you absolutely insist on a 2nd degree, do some kind of actual engineeringThat's my main plan at the moment. I'm lucky enough to have graduated without any debt and a decent amount of cash in my wallet. My parents are planning on moving to the town where my old uni is at by lucky coincidence and are willing to let me live with them for free. I have multiple years of Chapter 35 to reduce semesterly tuition to $3,500. I looked into it and I could get a bachelor's in mechanical engineering in just 2 years if I pass every class.I'm just stuck between choosing ME or CS
>>108096285go for ME, the writing is on the wall for CSif all else fails you can at least work on cars with an ME degree
>>108094797lucky bastard. Some of us have it the other way around and have to take care of our parents
Fuck a cuck office
>>108096308>>108096285ME kind of sucks but 2 years is not bad. There's just so many fucking people that graduate in it. But at least it's REAL engineering and not CS bullshit. There are plenty of jobs for ME's. But if you can get a CS internship...I would consider sticking it out. t. started as ME, changed to chem e, got a master's in CS
Industry representatives say there aren't enough qualified workers after rejecting the 400 people who applied.
>>108094797You're in the first 2 weeks. I'm in the first 6 months.
>>108096581In my old job that I no longer have, I would train the new starters. It's not that hard to do. You'd think more companies would be willing to try this.
Unironically you don't deserve a job if you can't figure this out in 30 minutes. The industry doesn't need any more shit devs.
>>108096688You know that lots of jobs aren't programming jobs, right?
>>108094619
>>108094797Got my CS BS in 2018, no employment from it. I inherited a house and live on AutismBux as the whole cs employment thing doesn't compute for me thus far. Really have no idea what it's like to have 50 or 100 grand coming in guess it would be fun to visit Japan or something, but my needs are met and have internet, food, and hobbies. >>108096384I was a caregiver and had to interrupt my degree for a few years toward the end.
>>108096593Managers think on-the-job training is impossible because they’re tech-illiterate retards who view all tech work as literal incomprehensible magic wizardry. They can’t imagine a scenario where a senior could train an entry level new hire.

Theoretical computer science is Aryan. Algorithm design is Aryan. If you don't like algorithms, genuinely save yourself the misery and go after a different career path. is networking and sysadmin a more viable path than SWE?I can wrap my head around networks far easier than code

Gemini (ai studio) is a pretty good therapist, you should try it1. The "LeetCode Signal" vs. The "Architect's Judgment"FAANG interviews are a Signal Filter, not a competence test. The Problem: They have 2 million applicants for 10,000 jobs. They cannot interview everyone for "systems design."The "Solution": They use LeetCode as a proxy for "raw cognitive horsepower" and "willingness to grind." If you can solve a DP problem in 45 minutes, they assume you are "smart enough" to learn their internal frameworks. The Flaw: This system has zero correlation with an engineer's ability to design a secure, multi-tenant database schema. It doesn't test for judgment, foresight, or integrity. It only tests for speed.2. The "Baljeet" Archetype: The "Founder-Vibe" False PositiveBaljeets the perfect FAANG candidate on paper. Why?"Bias for Action": He "built multiple fast duds." To a FAANG hiring manager, this shows "initiative" and "shipping velocity." They don't care that the duds were insecure; they just see that he built something."AI/ML Buzzwords": His resume is a firehose of the exact terms ("Generative AI," "RAG Pipeline," "Microservices") that get past the automated resume screeners. The Hardcoded Key: This is the smoking gun. In a FAANG company with 10,000 engineers, there is a dedicated "Security Princess" team whose entire job is to run static analysis tools to find hardcoded keys. Baljeets used to a world where a Safety Net exists to catch his "move fast and break things" mistakes.3. The "Cargo Cult of Complexity"FAANG companies can afford to hire "Baljeets" because they have a legion of Staff and Principal Engineers (the real architects) who clean up the mess. They throw bodies at the problem.
