My 5 yo 6.7" screen brick has cracked and I'm keeping an eye on these two as replacement.
Is this the year we finally get a modern keyboard phone That replaces the good old BlackBerry ?

Hmm....
>>
I want it but it doesn't ship here
the unihertz one will probably have some shitty software
i wanted android one (assuming that's what Clicks is doing)
>>
At this point, virtual keyboards are faster and far more versatile than physical.

Are these controller things any good?

Didn't like previous models they look unaesthetic too bulky

Mine is just fine ($30 chink shit)
But there are big quality gaps between them.

I'm skeptical of Unihertz. Putting aside their poor track record on software updates, I'm sure I saw a version of their product announcement that had the sort of melted-text generated images usually have. The timing of the announcement felt like a rushed response. I'm also baffled by their refusal to ship their phones with AOSP/Android One + play store. Especially on niche devices like the titan series.
Then again, Clicks has some sort of relationship with that failed fxtec phone. Clearly they're a solvent business this time, and they actually have something close to a final design they're going with. But I would not be surprised if I get an email in June saying "we're pushing it back to 2026 to get it right".
>>
>that failed fxtec phone
it's pretty disappointing. I waited so long I ended up getting a Pixel 7 and don't even use the fxtec. at least they seem to be desirable if I ever want to get rid of it

That's what my 3DS is for

You can cope all you want, I am 100% correct. Swiping is faster and prediction models are pretty much perfect. Less resistance per keypress on a mobile device is better and you retain a good screen size used for other media.
Physical keyboards on phones are for pseudoboomers who haven't spent 30 seconds thinking about it.
FACT: You will NEVER buy this device and main it.

Why are there cameras in the screens?
>>
>>108092545
all of my unihertz phones have the google play store
>>
>>108092321
Yeah but my titan 1 can be used as a blunt force weapon if need be.

Where the fuck are the navkeys
>>

There's a camera in all modern phone screens

you just notice it because they shifted it off to the side so it's not as glaring on the smaller screen
>>
>>108092787
Yep, you don't even need to swipe for it to be faster. A few predictions is more than enough. The high force per key press slows it down a lot, and not being configurable is a big deal-breaker these days. Want to use suggestions? Can't. Want to type another language? though luck. Don't like the layout? Buy a new phone.

I noticed this already in ~2013 when I had a sony android with a keyboard, it was nice but a samsung s3 was just better.

And for this benefit of the keyboard you sacrifice 1/3rd of the screen more than 2/3rds of the time... And you get worse specs, worse support, too. Not worth it.

>>108092270
If you had one of these phones you'd know the keyboards are also not nice for games.
>>
I don't understand why not a single one of the big manufacturers kept the KEY2 concept alive.

>The high force per key press slows it down a lot
It's not slower than the shitty invisible predictive button resizing that INSISTS you type a t instead of an r because that's what normies are reaching for with their big sausage fingers. No. Give me buttons that don't change size.

Besides, if the pad is touch-sensitive for gestures, they can implement swipe or light-tap.

>But I would not be surprised if I get an email in June saying "we're pushing it back to 2026 to get it right".
Clicks Technology's business address is the same London address as F(x)tec. They have the same CEO, Adrian Li Mow Ching.
Expansys was the company that F(X)tec was using for distribution and started selling Pro 1X's behind their back. I can't find any link between Clicks Technology and Expansys.
The pandemic caused supply chain issues for F(x)tec that no longer exist.
They're not announcing the SOC in case of supply chain issues like the F(x)tec order of SD835 SOCs.
I'm not defending F(x)tec or its CEO but with the success of the Clicks Cases and names like Mr Mobile, CrackBerry Kevin and Jeff Gadway having big stakes in the success of the communicator, I'm confident the failures of F(x)tec won't be repeated.

that's the point you retard
i want to avoid exactly that
