What's /g/'s blank cd brand of choice?
store brand in a pack of 100
i prefer the ones that begin disintegrating when exposed to air for more than a year
i like the ones that look like mini vinyls
>>108095446Can't remember the brands, but all the green and purple layered ones I burned in the 90's made it to 2024 intact.
>>108095462kek, hate those bitches
>>108095446Haven't burned a CD in forever. When I did, Taiyo Yuden was the GOAT that everyone swore by.
memorex never failed me. always worked first try on ps1, ps2, dreamcast, and wii.
The discounter brand, but they don't exist anymore. Now it is Verbatim.

>>108096486Recently tried burning some verbatim cds for my late 80s sound system and it didn't read. Tried some 20 year old burned cds I found in a draw and they worked no problem. What current disks are made at an older standard?>>108097534Some diehards are burning M disk Blu rays for archiving purposes. That and some indie audio masters still use cds.

>>108097534some people still burn windows or linux isos on disc instead of using a usb. why? it just works.
>>108097534>is people still burning cd/dvds in 2025? I thought that was a 2010 thingjust burned a win 7 SP1 HP OEM ISO cd today. OEM BIOS activation is nice. It's the main reason I use ol OEM dell and HP motherboards for XP and 7 builds.
>>108095446Whatever's on the spindle that's been sitting on the shelf in the back room for the last 20 years
OLD OEM isos for OSs like Windows XP and 7 are very useful if you have OEM MBs lying around. Same for server products. Most e,g Dell servers were sold with a server product on them that is BIOS activated even if the sticker is gone and I always liked server 2008R2 for offlined LAN windows shit, probably peak MS server, with a nod to 2012. Burning the DVD of the ISO is a piss simply way to get it on the machine and it means a fully activated legit install. Sure you could use USB keys for some of this stuff but don;t ever try and fight the way it was originally designed to be used unnecessarily.
