The "AI bubble bursting" will be like the dotcom bubble bursting in the early 2000s: there will be a temporary sharp downturn in the market, lots of the stupidest players in the field will go bankrupt, but the underlying technology will be there to stay and its effect on society will only grow even more after the initial bubble. If the dotcom bubble bursting didn't kill the internet, the AI bubble bursting won't kill AI.
>AI bubble burstsIt's still funny to me that normies managed to convince themselves there's going to be some magical event after which a technology will cease to exist. All the software and hardware will just suddenly poof. Kind of like an age of Aquarius for people born too late to experience being hippies.
>>108105400The internet is still nowhere near what 90s hype promised. Grifters were talking it up like tron was going to be real by 2005 at the latest.
>>108105445>but in reality it literally wont have any effect at all on anyone's every day life.everyone 401k is gonna take a pretty huuge hit
>>108105182rare case where one can lose a lot of money but I like it
>>108105312wow you have described a bubble as it happened for e.g. rails, telco, internet.they all have survivors who become robber barons
>>108105182/biz/niggers where you at?
>>108105312The internet isn't a bubble, but the dotcom situation absolutely is a bubble.
>>108105830> will create more value How?
>>108105182>he thinks there is an AI bubble
>>108105830>he thinks LLMs can somehow become agibaka
>>108105830>the company that actually develops agiInsane that you call everyone else low iq while believing in agi
>>108105182Think of the consequences anon, when the bubble will burst, then it is guaranteed that as a response the US government will bail out big tech. This means that they will keep doing what they were doing before the burst AND enjoy your tax dollars. Why would the government bail them out? Because they are the main resources to spy on and control everyone.Heads will not roll, companies will not fail, (You) will get poorer anyway.
>>108105182The comedy is that the mess has gotten so incestuous and tangled by their bullshit that there is no easy unmeshing when it all collapses. They're going to drag everything and everyone down with them.So yeah, basically >>108105206
>>108110578A chatbot can not become "agi" in a way that makes any difference
>tfw picking up a 80GB H100 for a couple of hundred bux
>>108107263Internet was a bubble too, lots of optical fiber was laid which had nothing connected to it. Yes, eventually the Internet grew but it was not within the time frame required for the level of investment to make sense. There was massive over investment.
