I'm sorry but i cant justify paying 15k$ for a cutting edge pc cuz memory cost as much as a bleeding edge GPU.Ive been into computers and building them since i was 7 in 1997 and NEVER has a cutting edge build cost more then 9k$ at most!!!Imagine paying 15k$ for something that will be dogshit in just 3 to 5 years for less moneyhttps://chatgpt.com/s/t_698a9fcf0f008191be52092a912a6210
At this point you might as well just continue using whatever piece of s*** you have and just buy yourself a dg x spark and just make a s*** through that

>i9Man, I don't get it, isn't AI supposed to be getting smarter? People are literally getting water shortages because it's all going to AI datacenters.
I mean, there are several things wrong with trying to build a bleeding-edge system in 2026, and here's a few points for you. First of all, RAM is overpriced. I mean, you're paying almost as much as a graphics card for RAM, and the amount of RAM you need to run AI far exceeds what you can put into this build that AI shat out for you. So if you're trying to use one of the, like, uncompressed, unquantized, like, full bleeding-edge AI LLMs, this machine won't even be able to handle it because you're putting in a 5090 RTX, so you're basically bottlenecked by the GPU and the RAM won't even fit the most bleeding-edge stuff anyways, so kind of pointless to go with that much RAM. And if you're already going for AI, you might as well just get yourself, like, two or three DGX Sparks for, like, way less price than whatever build you're having here. And on top of it, you have an i9 processor, whereas AMD has been shitting on Intel in the CPU space for years now because they've gotten too complacent. The five 22-terabyte hard drives, I can understand if you're into... Like the data hoarding and all this stuff, but this build doesn't do anything to support any of the potential hobbies you could do with the computer. If you try and do gaming, I mean, Moore's Law has pretty much ended, and hardware from 2022 is just as good at running the games that are coming out now. Now, sure, you won't have path tracing and all this other crap, but that's really unnecessary. There's only a few good games that even would use it. .
>>108107004And if anything, it would be, like I said, because Moore's Law ended, the 5090 would be using fake frames and fake resolution, so you might as well just get something younger and just play at like a native res. It doesn't do emulation good, because like I said, Moore's Law ended around 2022, so if you want to do emulation, you're far better off saving the money and using the hardware from around 2022, like a 13th Gen i5 or something. If you try and do AI, you can't even do AI that well, like I said, so it's pointless for that. It's just you're spending all of this money on pretty much... a master of none type of a build. I'd rather you pick a thing and just go with it. If it's AI, go with the DGX Sparks. If it's for gaming, go for something even smaller than that. Like you don't need all that RAM, you don't need all the hard drives. If it's for downloading and like uh data hoarding, I mean, you don't need any of this. You could run it on a fucking Raspberry Pi. So this $15,000 build literally serves no purpose well enough to justify its price. I mean, at this point, I would just wait for like another five, seven years until something really revolutionary is able to come out where if you spend $15,000, you're able to have like a hologram AI waifu offline or something, because right now, to have the cutting edge, it really does nothing for you

Cutting edge shit is pointless until we get some new way to "add" more transistors we've hit a wall in moores law. They are saying theyll start doing "3d" transistors to fit more per waffer but thats quite some time ahead. So nothing "new" is even worth buying atm which might actually be a bad thing because the cpu and gpu manufacturers will go "oh well consumers dont care guess we should triple down on enterprise ai data center tech instead"

>>108106899 You won't be able to have Blade Runner tier Joi until at least nanotube transistors are invented which is probably like 2035 and even then it's gonna cost you an arm and a leg to actually have so by the time 20:40 rolls around it might be cheap enough for you to actually have a realistic virtual girlfriend that follows you in your environment Through some kind of AR glasses so no point upgrading till then just keep using the same piece of s*** computer you have and then save up your money and then 1 20 40 comes you can finally afford it
