The future of computers is streaming
>>108170155We keep reinventing the thin client
>>108170155The mouse and keyboard configuration is so 2026... retro-vintage.
Already is, to a server in my basement. Games through Sunshine/Moonlight, Emby, self-hosted crud, etc.
>>108170155they tried this fad like 10 years ago and consumers didnt biteso now they will make it so we cannot buy hardware anymore
>>108170205we kinda succeeded with the smartphonewithout internet connection it's just a camera and a calculator
>>108170155wow just like it was in the 70s
>>108170294iphones are not smartphones.
>>108170155That's right. I stream games from my PC upstairs to a crappy laptop while chilling on my comfy couch
>>108170155That was the past. The future of computing is local.
>>108171060A bright future would be local. The future doesn't look bright.
iPads had 3G back in 2010.
>>108170155You're not thinking far enough. By 2030 we won't need a keyboard anymore, all computing will be done by voice activation. Of course, direct user control over the operating system without an agentic layer is already a massive security risk. Using a screen will still be needed for visual workflows, but considered old-fashioned. Some still use the screen to "verify output" as an old habit.
>>108170155Excluding triple ay slop, name one piece of software that doesn't run perfectly fin a ten year old laptop. Go on.>bb-but muh gamerinosThere are tens of thousands of old games to enjoy. Either play some nice little fun game and move on with your day, or grow up. It is abnormal to waste your life sat in front of a screen holering, crying, and laughing to yourself because "muh DSLXAIGBTQ 89.3 FPS >>>> FSR FrameGen 14.88 XL because..."No, open your eyes. Realise how rtarded that is. All that you need is already here, but it in your greed, you've sacrificed, time and time again, pieces of your soul in order get ahead on an imaginary scoreboard. I wish I could pity you.
>>108171424Alright big fella, name ten things that can't be done locally
Sorry, I will not be subscribing.
>>108170155>what was old is new againThis is literally 1980s computing.
>>108171040i did that between countries when i moved for a while
>>108170155The future of computing is a chip in your brain that streams adverts to you every 5 minutes, unless you buy the premium package for $99 per day.
Unironicly wireless monitor with proper bitrate stream would be comfy.
>>108170155Any computer strong enough to stream can run emulators.
>>108170294android devices are a full linux machine.t. rocknix on my odin
>>108171873>>108171873no the future of computing is having to pay to be able to pay to remove ads
>>108170155difference between that and today's computer?
>>108171549>all computing will be done by voice activationyeah like all interfaces were supposed to be floating touchscreens like in science fiction movies; I wonder why that didn't happen? (read about gorilla arm)imagine having to talk to your pc all day, your throat would burn out in a weekor maybe you're used to it already by sucking dick on a daily basis
>>108170155Basically a TV with remote control.
>>108171549actually there are companies who are developing devices to take impulses from ur brain to use as a keyboard
>>108170155Nah I think I'll just slaughter you, your family and everyone that associates with parasites like you. Seems much more convenient than giving up on the personal part in PCs.>heh you haven't done anything until now you never willWere those the last words of that parasite that got wacked in New York? Much more importantly I am willing and able to kill over this the question you have to ask yourself is are you ready to see your children be raped to death in front of your eyes just because your masters told you this is the plan?
>>108174367its more because computers cant understand natural language and because most of what you need to do on a computer is better done with a mouse and keyboard than speakingnotice how touchscreen now dominate because the pc form factor changed to be more accommodating to it? when the pc UI and UX changes to be more accommodating to understanding natural language, everyone gonna jump ship
>>108174449>[impotent screeching]
>>108171760Alerting the feds everytime you post something that hurts the feelings of minorities. Check mate.
>>108174264That doesn't work. We did this already. Once enough people are not watching ads, even if they pay to do so, the advertisers follow humans like rats, and weasel their way into where ever their attention going. Member OG Netflix? Now you pay AND they have ads.Basically, under no circumstances are people allowed to not watch ads
>>108174504say that to my adblocker
>>108174489K, so, so far we got: social mediaWhat else? Why do you "need" the internet and the "cloud"?
>>108170482iphones are more useful than android phones without the internet
>>108174367>>108174470YOUR computer doesn't understand natural language, but the computer your thin client connects to will. The sci-fi touch screen interface was dreamed up to look good on movies. It obviously won't work: it assumes the user is smarter than the computer he is operating. An old-fashioned concept.
>>108175086what can you do offline with iphone that android cant?
>>108170155and you WILL be happy
>streaming from a serveryeah you mean the X windows servereveryone itt is gullible baithappy and dumb
>>108175086I can do a factory reset and recreate my setup entirely without internet because I got all the apks backed up. Then I can grab any media from flash cards over USB. I have maps and dictionaries downloaded for offline navigation/translation. What fraction of that can an iphone do. What fraction of that fraction doesn't require connecting to PC.
>>108170155>using cloud "personal" computer doing some work>get interrupted by TV era ad break>consoom coke>consoom McDonald's>consoom consoom consoom>ads end>resume work>another ad break after some minutes
>>108170155The future of computing is AI, retard. Why stream when AI can summarize and digest for you?
>>108170294Goyphone is a fucking cancer
>>108170155with our 3rd world telecom network? i don't think so
You MUST pay starlinkYou MUST suffer the most bloated experience possible which wastes your time because it increases user hoursYou MUST pay per hourThis is the model
>>108175626iPhones don't need to be factory reset every month because their shitware OSs are so broken and open to malware.I know you probably don't even believe me - but rest assured, that's the battered wife syndrome talking.
>>108175086What? For Airdrop?
>>108178998So iphone can't do anything that I mentioned, gotcha.
>>108179666>but i wanna be raped in the ass every couple monthsAnon, I'm afraid most people aren't homosexual, nor is their phone some sort of toy for them to play with. You may be an autistic shirtlifter with no life, but you are in the vast minority.
>>108179687>I'm afraid most people aren't homosexualJust you. Replace hardware reset with buying a new phone. I can do all that with the new phone. You can't. I accept your concession.
>>108170155The future of computers is we don't need em anymore.
>>108179687>shirtlifterwtf does this mean
Have you seen the new Microsoft 365 Link cloud streaming device? It's so insanely overpowered it's 4 times faster than my gaming laptop.
>>108170155more like the funture.... of my STUPID DICK
>>108180004>anon sits in front of his reddit and 4chan tabs 17 hours a day>forgets search engines existTry this: google.com/search?q=shirtlifter
you will never be able to figure out latencyergo dead tech
>>108180138>gaming laptop>celeron CPU from 2015uh...
>>108174504>Basically, under no circumstances are people allowed to not watch adsThe most valuable thing on our planet, according to the American economy, is people watching ads. Does it matter what type products are being advertised and what their qualities are? No. Nobody gives a shit about any of that. The entire economy revolves around ads are being watched as often and as intensely as possible.
>>108170155>come on anons, a big smile for me
>>108178998>factory reset every monthlol whatIs this some projection?
>>108170384People had home computers in the 70s.
>>108182021No, it's reality. A reality you are incapable of understanding, because you're poor and have sour grapes. It's why people like you need safespaces like 4chan and Reddit that will protect you from the real world.
>>108181900It's not actually a real Celeron, it's an Atom
>>108185249ESL, try making a coherent point please.
>>108185249You're a delusional faggot who hasn't had contact with reality in decades.
>>108187068>>108187101>self-deception>impotent rage>projectionImagine my shock to see the trifecta of the generationally welfare-dependent.
>>108188308>loses argument>starts trollingget out please
