>forced linux down your throat
Gamers shouldn't have rights or for that matter opinions Now buy Gaben a new yacht
>>108174078Thanks Gabe!
>>108174078Based.
MacOS for work, CachyOS for gaming. The pajeet can go fuck himself.
>>108174078with a national people's party, we wouldn't be subject to unjust terms and conditions, and would have an ordinary first sale doctrine with resale of our copies, transfer etc.
>>108174078Literally who?
>>108174136I think you're on the wrong board.
This board fucking sucks.
>>108174180Keeping up with "figureheads" or whoever he is, is hardly a part of technology. I don't do gossip, I'm not a woman.
>>108174078>>108174125why is she so fat
do you think gaben will sell VR access to deep sea ROV exploration soon
>>108174221Nah, wrong board. Take a hike and quit LARPing that you don't know who this is. If you've spent any time on 4chan or this board, or with computers in general, there's no way you don't know who this person is. Next you're gonna say you don't know who Bill Gates is.
>>108174126Apple hardware sucks ass.Kubuntu for work, Kubuntu + Sandbox for gaming. The pajeet can go fuck himself.
>>108174348>Bill GatesWho?
>>108174181
>>108174089>Gamers shouldn't have rights or for that matter opinionsbased, most gamers are literal drug addicts. it is not talked about enough. in terms of time/value wasted, it is almost certainly more harmful than actual hard drugs.
>>108174078not the worst thing i've had shoved down my throat by far
>>108174857However, how do you define game? I don't think you can, in a way you'd be happy with the outcome. For that reason, I have with considerable heartache, soul-searching, prayer, debate, moot court, and angelic intervention ignored your input.
>>108174857They’d rather interact with patterns of flashing lights than the real world, they’re the most addled members of society. Imagine if they dedicated that time to the worship of Jesus Christ and Ba’al instead. They could’ve nuked Tel Aviv by now. Such a shame.
>>108174078I don't blame him, he saw the downfall of Windows so he had to create an Arch based distro SteamOS.
>>108174125God he is SO fucking sexy. I get wet every time
>works for Microsoft>quits to make video games>company is still trying and failing to make Linux decent despite years and billions of dollars spentProof that Linux is a lost cause
>>108174126NixOS for work, CachyOS for gaming.(I do real work for a living so that's probably the difference)
>>108174494>Apple hardware sucks ass.Are you high? MacBook Pros are the standard SWE machine for a reason
Your free to use a windows handheld
>>108175518go hang out with normies. they'll believe it.
>>108175525Trooning around isn't work.
>>108174569Hilarious and original.
You can install windows on steam deck thougheverbeitly?
>>108174180anon this is /g/, not /v/
>>108175135a computer game is a state machine that exposes to the end user a set of rules and objectives and presents a virtual environment in which the rules apply and in which the user is tasked with chasing the objective for the purpose of entertainment
>>108174125Now it finally makes sense why he cannot be stopped.
Thanks faggot, I will now chuck OpenBSD on my Steam Deck for a laugh.
>>108174078Considering that most Linux users are homosexual, transsexual, pedo or Indian, it's really not surprising that their instinct is to ram things into holes they don't belong in.
What are we moaning about? Most Windows users begrudgingly use it. They do it because "my hardware thing works on it" or "this corporation does not support anything that isn't windows or macOS so I'm stuck in here". The argument for many not to switch to Linux is not "Windows is great" it is "I am locked down to this vendor". Windows has become a general nuisance for the longest time, hence why people are even considering alternatives now.Let's not even talk about Apple, I mean they're the masters of locking you in and forcing you to stay in this very narrow cuckbox, if you even try to install applications in there without going through their app store they will mutilate your ass. Hell they will change whole fucking CPU architectures and you BETTER adapt or else. This fat fuck with 32 yachts isn't forcing you to do anything. Manufacturers aren't gonna ditch Microsoft tomorrow and ask you to switch to Linux instead, you don't have to worry your pretty little flamboyant brown fuckboy ass. That overpriced Steam Machine is still going to work fine with Windows because AMD is not just about to ditch it and most of it is essentially AMD hardware (and most of the market is Windows users still, it's not like Valve just wants to lose that either). You can keep fancily using your OS that requires logging in with an online account if you don't unplug your internet connection and your daddy makes it so that a command you shouldn't have to use stops working overnight. You can keep sucking that dick voluntarily.
>>108178064The more technically apt you are, the more you appreciate Windows. Most people are tards and want an appliance, yet can't stomach the cost of a Mac.So yeah, this wall of text does hold - but not for the reason the poster thinks.
>>108178077There is nothing to appreciate from underpaid indians.
>Sorry, Windows doesn't support running .exe files any more>You have to buy all your video games from the Microsoft Store or pay for a Xbox Cloud subscription.thank gaben and linux for averting this dark future.
>>108178086>jeet is projecting againYour hourly reminder.
>>108178115>china>running a closed source OS made by your largest geopolitical enemyI thought Chinese people were supposed to be smart?
>>108178064>OS that requires logging in with an online accountit doesnt, loonixtard
>>108174078>throat>throteFor me it's the cream
>>108178165Kek, we have a 200+ post thread on the catalog of freetards being told this, and flying into the most epic chimprage. Jayspam, transparent projection, completely ignoring reality, the whole works.Which is completely expected considering the demographics of Linux users.
>>108178115reminder, this is your sourcea data point from 2 years agosince then their numbers had linux drop to 4.8% and half of their data is incomprehensible unknown garbagemeanwhile in reality>Fewer than 10% of Indian households own a laptop or a computer.[1] In most developed countries, on the other hand, computer ownership is above 75%.[2]>India had an average household size of 4.44 people in 2021
>>108178184>just tinkertroon your way out of it bro!!!no thanksi'd rather use an os that can actually be trusted and hasn't been suffering from jeetrot for the past decadethere's no future in windows, it won't ever get better as every competent person has been replaced by a nepojeet, it'll only get worse
>>108174078Valve is the only based tech company for doing so.
>>108178150I don't think they are actually running either Windows or Linux, they have their own Chinese crap. Windows is just used by civilian nobodies.
>>108174078that's the only good thing he's ever done.
>>108174078Microsoft is trying so HARD to fuck up Microsoft, that Linux is actually looking very, very appealing.
>>108178620He also made Windows PC a serious gaming platform, without that we'd all be stuck playing video games on consoles and paying a monthly subscription fee to play our 100+ dollar games.
>>108174078based af, fuck gaymers and their jeetware
>>108178627video games worked fine on my PC long before Steam or even the internet.
Linux isn't for everyone. We need to gatekeep more.If you can't figure out basic shit from wikis, manpages, ChatGPT and a little perseverance then you may simply lack the IQ required to use Linux effectively. Freedom requires making choices and those choices require intelligence. You'll be happier if somebody else makes those choices for you.Instead of becoming frustrated and wasting your time as well as ours you should instead work a few extra shifts at your McJob and buy a Macbook Air instead.
>>108178636He worked for Microsoft on DirectX, idiot. That's the core of Windows gaming. Also, PC gaming was on the verge of dying before Steam became a big thing because brick and mortar stores didn't want to carry much games for such an unpopular platform. So he helped with that too.
>>108178668Nobody is impressed by people pirating LTSC IOT versions of Windows either, yet people brag about that all the time.
>>108178666>PC gaming was on the verge of dyingThat's a lie.>brick and mortar stores didn't want to carry much gamesAll the popular ones were readily available. The rest could be easily ordered. The only thing I am willing to give Steam is that it made patching easier and gave indies a chance to sell without going through publishers (which can be now done through better platforms). That's it. Everything else was a net loss for gaming industry and community.
>>108174078hes just like me!
>>108178693Not the person you're replying to, but I remember a very different situation. Finding PC games in stores was balls hard, and even walmart had like maybe 10 games that weren't shit before steam took off.
>>108178693Yeah I'm sure I want to live in a world where triple A slop is all I get to buy. Also not all of them, depended on store and region. PC games selection was ALWAYS much smaller than the consoles. Always. Without exception. There's a reason why people like Timmy from Epic said that consoles are the future. That's exactly what it looked like in the mid 2000s.
>>108178718How would you know? You were only 5 in the mid 2000s.
>>108178723I'm not literally you.
>>108178714>even walmartI wouldn't know. Were I live, we had specialized stores selling PCs and games.
>>108178727Yeah I'm sure every village under the sun had one of those specialist PC game stores. Thanks, genius.
>>108178725You made it painfully obvious that you never actually experienced PC gaming before Steam, so you're either underage or were entirely focused on console gaming.
>>108178733I come from a small rural town, we had stores selling PC games.
>>108178736And how did I make it obvious? Did the games I played in the 90s give it away? I had early access to Steam. The only consoles I've ever owned were the PSP and PS3.
>>108178033Haha believing internet memes is peak retardation
>>108178747By thinking PC gaming was worse before (the time of all time great classics like Deus Ex and JK2) Steam than after (lazy 360 ports).
>>108178787I never said anything about PC gaming being worse vs consoles or now you absolute illiterate cretin, I said it was dying. The reason for that was because getting the games in the first place was an amazing experience with piracy and shit tier without piracy. PC gaming was absolutely amazing before Steam when you pirated everything, you didn't even have to leave your home to play all the games nor did you need to have the shitty CD in your drive - but that also meant that PC games became more and more sparse in brick and mortar stores because they were very unpopular compared to console games. Consoles were 100% the future, there was no money in PC gaming. Also I don't give a fuck about your taste in video games, but since you're sharing. I liked LHX and Return Fire Played the shit out of those.
>>108178787Because he doesn't subscribe to nostalgia like you?If you want to play games now, it's objectively better than it was in the 90s and much better than it would have been had it been GFWL or some other mediocre garbage that succeeded instead of steam Physical distribution was already enshittified by securom and it only would've gotten worse
>>108174078you cant have windows draining 20% battery life
>>108178077Truth. Windows was, is and will always be what Linux claims to be but will never become. It’s just a fact. Get over it Linus, you make an OS for webserver backend. That’s good enough.
>>108178077the more technically apt you are, the more you fucking hate windowsits defaults condescend to youyou FIGHT it, you don't fundamentally CONTROL itit's like trying to muzzle a rabid roid ridden pitbulland the thought that you're fighting against an ever increasing army of jeets should make you seethe
>>108174078Thanks for helping me get ahead of the fray, Gaben.
Sometimes you need to be made to accept what is best for you, even if you don't want it.
>>108174078Making it actually functional was a Herculean task though. Nobody was able to come close before Valve.
>>108174078The deck is extremely performant and there's nothing stopping you for putting windows on it if you really want to O.o tho Anon.
>>108174126>CachyOSSARRRRRRRR
>>108183453https://cachyos.org/about/???
I will never bow before the gaben crime family
>>108174078>How will this affect Windows? You mean the software founded by that Syphilis ridden pedophile Bill Gates? You think I give a fuck?Did he go too far?
>linux is everywhere>this one handheld crosses the line
>>108178624dude this is my position right now. i walked away from linux in the mid 2000s and right now i'm about to walk right back. i suppose it's comforting that after 20 years of linux on the desktop nothing has really changed so i can pick up right where i left off.
>>108183860if he actually said that then that would make my day.
>>108174078Thank you Gabe (tho Ive been using ubuntu for 20 years)
>>108184405I've been running linux since 2015 or so and it's my pleasure to inform you that it's actually gotten many orders of magnitude better. The debian-likes are mostly "just werks" for most stuff. The slackware-likes are rock solid and Arch is fun (but it can be finnicky). Arch being supported by valve makes Steam a first class citizen on it and it works.
>>108174078Thank you daddy
>>108174078You know you can easily install Windows on it if you want, and it will run quite well.
