How can I block ads on YouTube?
ublock origin on firefox, but you will experience interruptions. all the fucking time.
>>108183033>but you will experience interruptions. all the fucking time. You won't if you're not retarded. Zero buffer, zero breakage, been going for 5 years, people spamming they got issues, meanwhile I got zero.
>>108183045you literally can't circumvent the ~5 second wait time for most videos though. yt-dlp cannot do it either.
>>108183033>>108183066I'm genuinely confused about what you're talking about. I don't get these five second wait times, I click the video and it starts instantly ad free.
>>108183083well I do have them on my IP address range. it's a black screen instead of a video for a couple of seconds, with a dialog saying "experiencing interruptions?" in the bottom-left corner.>yt-dlp currently imposes a default ~6-second delay (sometimes 4-10s) before downloading YouTube videos to prevent "403 forbidden" errors caused by fake buffering or anti-bot measures. It's fucking annoying and I cannot circumvent it since VPNs are now also detected. still not paying for premium though.

>>108183066?
Install Gentoo.
>>108183110how the fuck? I've been struggling for days. firefox + ublock origin.
>>108183020
>>108183130I have no idea, I don't do anything special, just purge my filters cache monthly and that's it.I do use this: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mchangrh/yt-neuter/refs/heads/main/yt-neuter.txtBut it shouldn't have an effect as it's mostly cleaning the UI.
What about on smart tvs? I don’t want to buy chinkshit , connect my laptop to the tv or use an android tv. Not buying subscription for jewtube either. They already have enough money
>>108183225Pi-Hole, I assume.
>>108183066I don't have any issues. Not doing anything special I think. Sorry can't help you more than that
>>108183020Ublock.

>>108183274>If only you knew how proprietary things really are
>>108183020Everyone here talks about desktop, So I'll give my two cents on Android devices. On mobile you need YouTube revanced.Download the revanced manager, disable the primary YouTube app, press on the suggested version like in the picture and you will be redirected to a site that has .apk files for many versions of many apps. Then after you have downloaded it you will press the patch button at the bottom right. You will select the .apk you just downloaded, and leave the patches on default. The first time you open the YouTube app, it will say you need MicroG and will redirect you to github. Download and install. You will put your Google account on MicroG and you're ready.
>>108183597>On mobile you need YouTube revanced.I know it's demonic to use m.youtube but I just kinda use that in Brave on mobile.Got tired of all the apk aids.
>>108183033Interruptions? The fuck you're talking about?
>>108183033>>108183066>experience interruptions>the ~5 second wait timeAlready does this for the "topic" videos. Today, it's even throwing it up when you click on a regular music video recommendationStrangely, though, if you click on the same music video url via the search bar instead of directly of of another video, it plays instantlyt. adnauseum user
>>108183274>>108183528kek
>>108183597I think revanced is getting discontinued again, the Extended fork Dev, anotia or whatever, started a new one called morphe, with a new manager and microG client
pay for youtube premiumwhat are you? poor?
Just get premium. No ads on any device.
>>108185541nvm>https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/495173-youtube-enchantmentsThis one makes the interruptions pop up go away on the "regular" music videos. Still, a shame about the Topic videos>>108185580>>108185589shoo shoo poopoo shills
>>108185687how much do you get paid per hour? is the amount of time you've spent on "tweaks" and "workarounds' to block ads on youtube really worth it when you consider you get a Spotify equivalent (but better) thrown in too.If you're unemployed, keep doing what you're doing.
>>108185708>is the amount of time you've spent on "tweaks" and "workarounds' to block ads on youtube really worth ityeah>keep doing what you're doing.ok
>>108183020You can just literally use Brave.
>>108185589I also have premium, but I don't want to install it everywhere, and also "freedoms are highly limited" on youtube.example.Start a channel explaining why whites are the superior race.Well, you won't get MONETIZED. You'll get banned.
>>108183020On Windows 10 Chromium I've been using uBlock Origin + YouTube Adblock + SponsorBlock. The addition of YouTube Adblock is idiotic but I don't touch it because it just works and gives me almost no interruptions. On Android I use YouTube Revanced which works just like the stock app but without ads or sponsor segments, and way less crap polluting the feed.
>>108185708>is the amount of time you've spent on "tweaks" and "workarounds' to block ads on youtube really worth itIt's more about principle for me. I was about to buy Premium to get the enhanced bitrate formats when they started pushing it harder while continuing to enshittify the entire platform. Now I refuse to pay them a single cent.
