What is the biggest limitation to gamedev and why is it model design + animations?
I'm currently implementing some data structures in C and I've been following Cormen, but I don't like how it's structured. Does anyone know any other algorithms and data structures book?
>>108188911For what purpose?
>>108188951So I don't have to keep fighting the weird structure of the book
>>108188839>why is it model design + animations?Because mimicking life is the antithesis of a computer's essence. Large energy input is required to surmount that Aristotelian barrier.
>wasted the entire day again not working on my game
there's literally no point in starting any new projects before jai comes out
>>108190949same, tomorrow ill work on it
>>108191035I've been working in Jai for months. Just use the leak.
>>108191035thers nothing special about jai, use odin instead
>>108188839just make a game that doesnt require significant animation or modelling skill
>>108191160>Just use the leak.what areyou tralking about
just use c++
>>108191365>he doesn't know
>>108191365Uh oh

Pyrite64 released, an N64 game engine and editor. Like a Godot for N64.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BCmKnN5eGAhttps://github.com/HailToDodongo/pyrite64
>>108191747this code sucks
>>108191622Thank you anon, your post made me realize the thousands of lines I had written in Jai didn't actually exist and I don't even have a project folder. I will now use C++ so the contrarians of contrarians on /g/ will allow my progress to exist. Can't wait to write some template metaprogramming!
>>108191747In terms of development, this is rather pointless nostalgia slop for fat 35 year olds who are still chasing that dragon from their childhood when they got a console as a birthday present. It's a pretty cool programming project though.
>>108191844You're coming off as a little defensive
how come the guys over at >>>/vg/agdg have set up a game date to play their games and here we have nothing like that?? surely we can make something similar to try out other anon's software
>>108192268There were progress days, with a smaller number of participants and even less feedback.
>>108191844How does it compare to C/C++? Can it be live reloaded?
>>108192268anon, those engines barely compile
>>108192268They don't really give gamedev advice. Just get mad and ramble
>>108192268nobody here makes anything
>>108192926i was making something right before i typed this and will continue making something after i solve this captcha
