What is the biggest limitation to gamedev and why is it model design + animations?
>>
I'm currently implementing some data structures in C and I've been following Cormen, but I don't like how it's structured. Does anyone know any other algorithms and data structures book?
>>
>>108188911
For what purpose?
>>
>>108188951
So I don't have to keep fighting the weird structure of the book

>why is it model design + animations?
Because mimicking life is the antithesis of a computer's essence. Large energy input is required to surmount that Aristotelian barrier.

>>
>>108190949

>>
>>108191035
I've been working in Jai for months. Just use the leak.
>>
>>108191035
thers nothing special about jai, use odin instead
>>
>>108188839
just make a game that doesnt require significant animation or modelling skill
>>

Pyrite64 released, an N64 game engine and editor. Like a Godot for N64.

this code sucks
>>
>>108191622
Thank you anon, your post made me realize the thousands of lines I had written in Jai didn't actually exist and I don't even have a project folder. I will now use C++ so the contrarians of contrarians on /g/ will allow my progress to exist.

Can't wait to write some template metaprogramming!
>>
>>108191747
In terms of development, this is rather pointless nostalgia slop for fat 35 year olds who are still chasing that dragon from their childhood when they got a console as a birthday present.

It's a pretty cool programming project though.
>>
>>108191844
You're coming off as a little defensive
>>
how come the guys over at >>>/vg/agdg have set up a game date to play their games and here we have nothing like that?? surely we can make something similar to try out other anon's software
>>
>>108192268
There were progress days, with a smaller number of participants and even less feedback.
>>
>>108191844
How does it compare to C/C++? Can it be live reloaded?
>>
>>108192268
anon, those engines barely compile
>>
>>108192268
They don't really give gamedev advice. Just get mad and ramble
>>
>>108192268
nobody here makes anything
>>
