Another reason to use password managers and noscript, if the URLs don't match, they protect you.

thats not the important part. its the link that that pass button leads to. just need to hover over it to see what the actual url is. people don't do that?
>>
>>108191650

they sometimes use alpha instead of a lowercase A as well. the best thing to do when receiving an unsolicited text or email is to close the email and go straight towards the official website and sign in. chances are, if you haven't requested a password change yourself, you won't see any on your microsoft account.

It's a legitimate email from rnicrosoft though...

I actually lost my steam account this way for a short while, many years back when some russian scumfuck sent me a phishing link in chat (was still in my teens at the time, 2FA basically wasn't a widespread thing yet)

Got it back again fairly quickly, but holy fuck. First and only time i got BTFO like this, they added the "you're leaving steam" URL reminder window shortly afterwards

Not really. Helvetica clone sans-serif fonts and poor kerning tech were though.
>"Poor kerning tech? Windows fonts are sharp."
Not on Linux or MacOS
>inb4 "glyph accuracy" cope
Patenting is a plague

Assuming we all used monospace fonts for everything, it would work well for Japanese texts, since each kana and kanji takes up the same width of space.

It doesn't matter, Microsoft has a zillion domain names anyway and they'll pick one at random for important authentication stuff. This is why every time you log in you need a "loading screen" while it redirects across like five of them to get the cookies set up.

If you genuinely can't tell the difference you should consider a monospace or serif font.
>>
Phishing scams targeting the most ubiquitous centralized authentication platform that has shoehorned itself into literally fucking everything? And using lookalike domains? Nah man that's just crazy talk.

fanebook is the one I remember storing password in clear text, probably had 130k-140k logins before it got reported and seized.
