Switched from Win10 to Arch years ago and it's the best decision I've made. Having total control over the system is actually insane compared to the walled garden of Windows. What's stopping you from making the switch?
>>108192658I’m already on macOS, why would I downgrade?
>>108192658>What's stopping you from making the switch?Nothing, I already switched over my private machines to Linux. But I'm still using a work issued Macbook with an adobe business subscription. But one good thing is, that we got rid of our Microsoft dependency and switched to open source solutions.>"I can't switch"I don't get these ""people"" do they really use their work machine for private use? Going on 4chin, torrenting, cracked games, while working with Office365. LOL.
>>108192658If I ever leave Windows it'd be because Macs became better at everything. Linux is a good server OS and a toy as a desktop.
>>108192658office. decided to field test my thinkpad at work today and hoo boy, not being able to natively interface with my weekly reports without libre breaking every single template known to man was a pain in the ass, so i had to resort to google docs just to get it over with.having said that, my windows pc doesn't even have office installed these days lol. relegated that whole suite onto my macbook some time ago.
>>108192716>>108192721So many jeet names in those splash screens. Imagine using this shit
>>108192778we live in a golden age of containerization and especially webapps and webasm. you can just have these in the browser if all else fails.
I'm going to switch to Mint when I build my new computer on Monday, I've gotten really sick of windows. A friend sold me some memory he wasn't using at a very good price. Fingers crossed some postal worker doesn't steal it.
>>108194313if the hardware is recent mint might have a kernel thats too old it happened to me last time i got new hardware with debian kernel being too old
>>108194330Good point, but I checked and everything looks fine. I run a gtx3080. I was most worried about the mobo but it should be a-ok.
>>108192658>Ctrl + F>No matches for "trannies"For once this did not happen.Anyways I switched because of freedom. Normies cannot comprehend this and refuse to do so.In the future, I hope to setup an air gapped gaming machine running Windows. I don't care if Wine is better, I would rather not use any proprietary junk on my Unix machine. With this, I get the best of both worlds.>Secure and up-to-date open-source computing>Compatibility with games and existing software
I only use windows for a few games. Mostly use Linux anyway. But I never understand things like>Having total control over the system is actually insaneWhat do you do with all this control? I just use Mint and Ubuntu with all default settings and it has been fine.

>>108192716Hey quick question anyone know if Janani Mani has a penis or a vajani?
My ultimate goal is to switch to OpenBSD, but KDE krashes like there is no tomorrow. So stuck on Fedora as a middle ground for now.
>>108192716>>108192721Adobe products work on linux now: https://youtu.be/aaTvRDsdy0s?si=Wg8cZ8JBZc0FlY4h&t=611 but davinci resolve is better than adobe premiere anyways and it works natively on linux>>108192778Works on linux now: https://youtu.be/HClrpRfR3-Q?si=XxyBZMZ__VsNZ9Mt&t=338
>>108192658>"total control over the system">uses distro deep throating poettering systemdick>probably thinks ricing translates to understanding linux well
>>108192658I'm currently on fedora. I tried using arch, but i just had too many issues that it just wans't worth it, I used gnome so that might be the reason.
>>108192658>hibernation doesn't workno thanksi don't use slopware like adobe but missing basic functionality is inexcusable
>>108192658things havent started to tell me that my OS isn't supported so i continue using it
