Holy shit, it's over. Give me 3 discord alternatives, now:
>Xitter screencap
>Obligatory: KYS
>>
>>108202456
1. Jami
2. Stoat (Revolt)
3. Element/Matrix (TeamSpeak 5/6 also count)
4. Signal/Telegram/SimpleX for messages + Mumble for VoIP
>>
>>108202456
Conversations(XMPP)
Profanity(XMPP)
Converse.js if you're a webshitter (XMPP)

just use xmpp
>>
>>108202590
IRC is a good alternative if you just want a public chatroom. XMPP needs more setup than it should for that.
>>

My main question is, where the fuck will all the NSFW communities go? Game devs, subscribestar creators, AI smut, niche porn servers? It's all gonna be scattered in the wind I guess...
>>
>>108202456
hared my work some years ago now its much improved and closer to discord https://heahy.com/c/4chins
>>

Thanks for the sitrep, Brap_Nation.
>>
>>108202456
I'm looking into Fluxer, it looks 1:1 like discord except self-hostable
>>
>>108202670
>where the fuck will all the NSFW communities go?
they will do the normalfag thing and pretend nothing is wrong until their communities start getting shut down/locked out. then they will panic choose a platform at the last minute

you think people put any foresight into this? It's just nerds yelling right now wiht everyone else saying "yeah right.. pedophile."
>>
>>108202670
That's really you're top concern, all the porn, get some help. There is plenty of porn on the internet, the porn will be just fine, don't lose any sleep over it.
>>
>>108202566
>>108202590
>>108202674
Thanks /g/ents. I heard about Stoat and Matrix before, but I don't know if those services are normalfaggot friendly enough for masses to switch. I got signal, but thats more of a good messanger, sadly not many people I know use it. I think I'll check out IRC, just for fun, if they allow VPNs.
>>
>>108202566
Why is Mumble so rarely brought up when discussing pisscord alternatives? I feel like I heard about it a lot 10~15 years ago.
>>
>>108202694
It's pretty sad that there are still people who think that censorship magically stops after the things you don't like (and only the things you don't like) disappear. First it was loli porn because ugh that's le disgusting. Now regular porn is threatened too. It doesn't take a genius to realize that internet control merely started with the lowest friction topics, not to find a strong opposition, but it will keep advancing until even the most innocuous shit is controlled too.
>n-noo but porn will never disappear because it's controlled by da joos
Just a reminder that at the same time Mastercard forced Steam to purge hundreds of spicy games because it was bad for their brand somehow, blackeddotcom had the logos of Visa and Mastercard perfectly visible at the bottom of the frontpage. Will porn survive? Of course it will, you'll always have your state approved porn, just like you'll always be able to post your state approved opinions.

>>108202741
Because people who use Discord want to use a Facebook Messenger alternative, not just a VoIP client. They want to be in multiple chat rooms at the same time seamlessly, have persistent messages, have direct chats and have built-in media sharing. Some of them even want to desktop/screen share. Mumble offers none of that.

Mumble is only good if you're already only using instant messengers for communication and you just need a good and universal VoIP solution. This is the case for me, but clearly not for zoomers and gen a who prefer an "everything app".
>>
>>108202694
>There is plenty of porn on the internet
There isn't. There is no place to find decent amateur porn made for fun. OF destroyed that scene and old content was purged. And since discord also killed forums, some (completely legal I should add) niches have moved there as well, with nothing else existing to my knowledge.
>>
>>108202456
Signal and Telegram if you want normies to join.

"Push to talk". As in, you should be constantly muted unless you hold a keyboard key. Or "push to toggle". As in, you should be able to mute/un-mute your mic within the application with a single key press.

You have two choices:

1. Remain on discord
Pros:
You are still talking to pedophiles online
Cons:
You have given them your Identity to be later stolen

2. Find an alternative to discord
Pros:
You are talking to a lot more pedophiles then normal online
Cons:

This was debunked as being a white-hat pen-test.

That said- apparently there actually WAS another leak. One which allowed some more in-depth analysis of Persona's 'age estimation' - which revealed they're actually running 269 distinct identity security checks on your selfie. And are not just estimating age.

These including cross-verification with national and international watch lists, sanction lists, and PEP databases - appearing to run matches against such figures and assigning similarity scores for them. The exact criteria cannot be determined, just that these people are apparently somehow flagged as "suspicious" in a function labeled SelfieSuspiciousEntityDetection.

Zoomies don't know how to
- set up "persistent IRC" via keeping a 24/7 client connected and remoting into that
- mask their IP behind the hostname (never join an IRC that doesn't support it)
- open ports on their router for direct p2p file transmissions
- slap people with a large trout
>>
The IRC protocol is objectively worse than discord in terms of features, security, and accessibility. The /v/ equivilent of IRC is Quake. Posers pretending to care about it, never had any meaningful use out of it, doing it for e-cred.

Just direct-link from Onedrive/Dropbox/your-filehost-here and see if their client auto-embeds or not.

You can just simply say IRC died when phone-posters started being a thing, since most IRC servers/clients were not built with flowing mobile traffic in mind, which is doubly bad since chat persistence isn't a thing.

Just because "plenty" of millennials used it doesn't mean most even heard about it. I'm a millennial and pretty much none of my millennial friends even know what IRC is. It was used by a small minority of people. email, MSN, Skype and Facebook Messenger were the major millennial digital communication platforms until instant messengers became popular on smartphones. Which is exactly why I used FB as an example.

And it almost perfectly describes what Discord is based on the feature set. You have to be an absolute moron to start describing Discord as "IRC+VoIP+Screen Share+Media Share+Persistent Messages+...".
Why say all that if you can simply describe it as "Facebook Messenger"? The only reason you'd do that is if you're some terminally online millennial who likes pretending to be a smartass, which I know is extremely common for millennials and zoomers to do.
