I noticed a trend where packages that were previously in the official repo got moved to the AUR (which is less convenient unless you try to use some sketchy AUR helper) and then when you try to use the AUR you get some error. After the last update my system got laggy and the window manager started glitching which wasn't the case before (i have nvidia GPU).
>>108203903Qt5 was moved to AUR already??? wtf
Linux in general has been getting worse, why would arch be the exception
>>108203903just give me my hibernation and flawless dual monitor support so i can switch over already
>>108203908Tried installing openshot from the AUR and got errors. There is the appimage version you can use but that's a bit suboptimal.
>>108203922I have hibernation and triple monitor support in Sway WM setup. What am I missing? Arch, btw
>>108203913Oh great. Now when microsoft is screwing up people managing linux are wasting another golden opportunity.
>>108203933what gpu?on my nvidia card, when i try to use hibernation, it literally doesn't wake up, just a black screentried troubleshooting months ago but just gave up, its too basic of a feature to have to go through any trouble for it
>>108203940RTX 3090 (tuf oc)
>>108203945rtx 4060, what did you do for hibernation?evidently its "experimental" so its not enabled by default and when i tried to enable it it was just botched
>>108203965Never tried enabling it.
>>108203940AMD/AMD on one PC and Intel/integrated on the other. Hibernation - the entire RAM to pagefile/swap partition and shutting down completely, not that modern pseudo sleep mode shit.>nvidiaHaven't used it on Linux for like 8 years, but from what ppl say it sounds troublesome, I'd avoid, at least with Wayland. i3/X11 probably has better mileage than Wayland/Sway with Nvidia.
>>108203983For me it has worked fine for the most part. Seems like something broke recently. Ill just keep updating until the issue is resolved i guess (might take a while for it to disappear). Tried installing various versions of the nvidia driver but got the same issues regardless.
