5 hours in ms paint I suck at drawing pls no bullypic related is my current setup roughlyThe new case I bought has power/usb/headphone jack on the bottom though. I didn't draw it very good but my headphone cord is not that long and would be quite tight if it had to stretch from where its attached on the left headphone to the bottom of the new case, to the point if I lean back or turn my head it might yank or unplug and damage it (not tested I just get that feeling). The controller is a bit more forgiving. Also having the power button on the bottom might be prone to dog presses or my foot if I'm sitting weird. Either way this is fucking my head up since I'm so used to having this stuff on top of caseAlternatively I could try and put the tower on the desk. My desk isn't big and I already feel like there's not much space but maybe if I move my monitors more or push them forward I could fit the case on the back wall horizontally, or on the far right vertically but I'd probably hate it, and it would make more noise from fans that aren't obstructed by the desk. And I don't know how I would even move wires if it was on the desk since headphone would just cross over my hand/mouse/keyboard and forcing it around the corner of the desk would make the same problem of cutting the length and making it tight.Last cope option is I could move the tower to the left floor (or desk) but that is the side where I always have my water or coffee and I'd be retarded to do such a risk.>just get wireless headphone/controller or a different caseI like everything about the case except the button placement, and other cases with top button placement have other things I hate more.I'll get a wireless headset probably on black friday or when there's a good deal but until then this is what I'm stuck with. I am kb/m most of the time but for some games I use controller, its a long enough cord thoughWat do? Any desk/design pros
>>108216790buy a dac, that's all
>>108216790Move your tower (sideways) behind the left monitor. You clearly prefer sitting leaning right hence why your left monitor is angled. Shift monitors to the right if need be.

>>108218968the problem i have with 3d printing is that most just works printers suck at printing durable stuff unless you spend like 1k or more.>>108218982arch linux
>>108218645you could just paint them black or use a sharpie. also put a fan over your ddr5 they run so hot especially if you are removing the heat spreaders they arent just cosmetic. my hynix m die errors above 60 celcius so i keep a fan over it
>>108218645you gonna rip the dram modules from the pcb>>10821900132gb kits run rather cool. it's only the double sided stuff that runs hot. the 32gb stuff also boots just as fast without memory context restore as 64gb with it on.
>>108218946Yeah, I want to make a new build in a better looking case but I don't want to buy everything again, here what I have now:- X670- Ryzen 7 7800X3D- 64GB (2x32) 6000 cl30 (bought in 2024)- 1000W psu- RTX 5070 tiI was just thinking of switching either the cpu or mobo (for the look), I didn't see the point of upgrading the cpu for my personal use and when am6 is on the horizon.
>>108217580If you have a tub of legos I'm sure you could figure something out.Otherwise yeah those work. Just make sure the minimum/maximum length works out for the space between the bottom of the case and the card.
>>108219058Oh, and any support that isn't a bracket should be more towards the middle edge of the card, not the end corner. Better weight distribution.
>>108218897Even the cheapest ones are around $1,000. Shits fucked man.
>>108218893In terms of actual wattage? 200W OC, 160 undervolted. Will soon be going to a 275W card later though, I may not be able to repeat this without voiding warranty.
>>108219030Wait for the 10800X3D or whatever it will be called and x970eZen6 will be released in 2027, who knows when zen7 will release, or whether it will be am5/am6
there's literally no reason to upgrade until 2030 and zen 7, and depending on how zen 8 sounds with ddr6 it might even be better to wait until zen 9 (never buy the first gen of a new socket)
>>108218882>80mm fanMight as well just use the existing 12cm thick 85mm fans on the GPU, even if their floor for RPM is like 1500...
>>108218990you could definitely print PET-CF on a P1S, which goes for like $400 and probably even less with discounts. Hell, I bet you could print it on an A1 Mini if you had to
I think all this GPU slot thickness, support bracket, deshrouding, all that shit is just symptomatic of two problems.1) This is all COMPLETELY OUT OF SPEC for ATX, PCI Express was never meant for GPUs that draw more power than the CPU, let alone more than 150-200W and above. 2) The ATX specification is outdated because it doesn't account for airflow into high power components, resulting in band-aid abominations like blower GPUs.3) ATX case design is overwhelmingly flawed and inefficient for cooling components. This is precisely why BTX was created and why it should still be the standard.4) GPUs should be relegated to their own space and should be THE PRIORITY in case design as the most power-hungry component of them all. Leave high-power GPUs out of PCIE expansion slots, 2-slot GPUs were an aberration from the very beginning, they were NEVER meant to be more than a single slot.
>>108219307I sometimes wonder if the layout should be revised but it won't happen cause of compatibility
>>108219282>PET-CF on a P1Si was more thinking about asa, abs, abs-gf25, pc/abs, pet-cf, paht-cf, pure pc, pa12-cf and tpu 95a or 98a. i do like the idea of a qidi q1 pro but i am not sure and to get printer that could print all of those from bambu lab (the x1e) i would have to spend like 2.5k+.
>>108218936Sounds like a complete waste. What extra feature are you even looking for? Same socket, same PCIe generation, same CPU support, what exactly would you even be upgrading for?
>>108215717what's the lowdown as of late? haven't been keeping up w/ the market ever since i rushed my build last december.
>>108219333>i do like the idea of a qidi q1 prodidn't know about it, seems great value at first glance, what's the issue with it?I don't think that Bambu is the only "just werks" brand anymore, Creality and this Qidi seem to be offering something similar, the times of having to build a shitty printer that constantly has issues are pretty much over
>>108219381>what's the issue with it?i am a noob so i can't tell good from bad.
>>108219307There is only one problem, which is that (You) need more than 75W to begin with.
>>108219327You could probably design a case with some sort of box / large shroud that goes over the PCIe area of the motherboard to effectively isolate the airflow to the cards from that of the rest of the system and keep it ATX otherwise. Hell I'm sure you could probably 3D print something like that, maybe have air come in from the front intake and exhaust it through a vent in the side panel.
>>108219390try asking about it on the 3D printing /diy/ thread, some anons there think that anyone not using a Voron is retarded but others might give you useful answers. That printer has been out for a while so any dealbreaking issue it might have should be known by now, on paper it should be able to print just about any filament save for some few edge cases where 80+ degrees in the chamber could be needed
>>108219379something like this, well, thats how i feel about it, cuz i finished my build last February and i don't need to care.
>>108219444they already told me that i was retarded but that was like one year ago. maybe they are nicer now.

>>108219474those are prob XL2411K which are only 144hz, full hd, tn but they do have dyac
>>108219466>maybe they are nicer nowdepends on who answers, it's a slow board so if you are unlucky the only anons online might be the assholes that think that the first step in that hobby should be mining the copper to make the electronic components>>108219507still why go for the gaming line?
>>108219563>still why go for the gaming line?price isn't crazy for gaming monitors anymore and there's eye relief to be had from semi-decent panels and higher refresh rates. If you have to stare at monitors all day, you really appreciate a better panel, even if TN. I say this as someone who has installed "gaming" monitors in offices before for people who all they do is look at spreadsheets and emails. They noted signifigant less eye strain and headaches from said strain
>>108219474they all use cheapshit lcds
>>108219563they have shit viewing angles. don't need one of those privacy screens. >>108219578we also recently replaced a few 1080p 60hz ips screens with 100hz ips screens because lg doesn't sell the old screens anymore. i had to send out an email on how to set all of them to 100hz.
>>108219578makes sense, even if the refresh rate isn't needed a generally higher quality can definitely be a selling point since a lot of "office monitors" are shit-tier, I hadn't considered this

dumb question about RGB lights since I've never used them beforeI actually hate the way they're presented in pictures and peoples showcase builds where its multiple bright and obnoxious colors. But I'd like one good consistent color or complimentary combinationCan you actually control/customize the color and brightness on fans or other components that include RGB lights? Would I be able to just make it a comfy and consistent low brightness darker blue or something for example, via software or bios or something? Or does it HAVE to be bright pink and blue and yellow and shit.

hello pcbgI am currently transplanting a thinkcentre m81 motherboard into a d09m housing so that I may fit my 1050ti gpu and use it for slopping. I've been tinkering with thinkcentres for close to a decade now so I don't expect much but I thought I'd give it a shot.On boot I get a post error from 2 beeps but no display either so I'm not sure of the specific error encountered. It does a no memory post error without memory.I have checked all the memory modules on separate rigs. The monitor and its cable are fully functional over vga.Every single time I've had a similar issue it was the monitor being faulty but here I checked with two different working monitors. Do note, there are plenty of sensors and panels unplugged as I can't seem to get the dell cables to fit the thinkcentre headers. Any insight would be highly appreciated.Sorry for poor english.

>>108220722>>108220741you’re missing the point - that 400% jump is exactly why they’re puppets. g.skill and corsair don't set those prices to get rich; they set them because they’re the collection agents. the cartel doesn't want the heat of a 400% markup on the raw silicon, so they force the 'manufacturers' to bake the extortion into the final build. that extra 350% is the 'protection money' that flows right back up the chain through back-channel licensing and 'validation' fees. they aren't 'one of the reasons' for the jump; they are the mask the cartel wears so you have someone to blame while the real architects stay invisible. they're just the loud, flashy distraction while the big three bleed the market dry.

If you keep it you should of course install a second 140mm fan in front and maybe an AIO in top that would prevent heat from the CPU to accumulate inside and leave more cooling capacity for the GPU. If you install an air cooler instead you should install additional 2x140mm fans in top. I think a 5070 would be no problem to keep cool in this case with all these fans and the top lid opened.

>>108220919>>108220929PC builders really live in a bubble where every PC has XMP/EXPO support when in reality it's a very tiny minority.G.Skill got hit because they sold memory advertised at a speed that cannot be enabled on 90% of the PCs that memory can slot into as they lack ANY support for overclocked memory.G.skill and Corsair didn't make that fact clear. It's made worse by the fact that XMP/EXPO has a stupidly low JEDEC/PnP speed for literally no reason. 3200Mhz speed is supported by alot of late DDR4 systems as a plug and play speed but the vast majority of "3200mhz" kits sold by g.skill defaults to 2133Mhz with no JEDEC profiles that go faster.

Any ideas on how I could cleanly noise dampen the HAF 32 HDD cage?Paying for a 3d print of something that accepts mounting be quiet! HDD cages would preferably be my last resort. Their floating HDD cage design is easily superior, but unless I somehow weld or bolt on my own steel plate to reinforce the motherboard tray for such a design, I doubt a 3d print would be structurally sound enough to support their weight.Granted, I haven't tested the effectiveness of the native HDD brackets from CM or whether they could use silicone dampening, which is what I'm after.
>>108221624Kinda is actually as XMP/EXPO RAM dominates page listings. You really have to go out of your way to find DIMMs that run 3200Mhz without XMP.G.skill and Corsair could have saved themselves by just putting on a faster JEDEC profile.I get it tho. >>108221696You're supposed to adjust the fan curve to your human ears instead of trusting automatic ai tuning that has no ears.
>>108221650Same here, I really miss the HDD cages of beQuiet in my ProArt PA602 case.
>>108221721But I'm afraid that if I touch the fan settings my CPU will explode because it gets to hot.
>>108221697they don't sell those anymore. they have the Lian Li GB-002 now and there is a Lian Li GB-003 as well. don't need those. my gpu doesn't sag.
>>108221739As long as the fan is spinning it will never get too hot. It will only get too hot if you tell it to stay at idle fan speed while it's using 100% PPT.
>>108221772is your top front fan intake or exhaust?
>2005 + 21>still using a hexacomb or slits instead of a wire grill for your intake/exhaust fanscase makers are NGMI
>>108221739Why would it get too hot?If you adjust the fan curve it's you who determines the tolerated temp level. You should just KNOW how hot you want your CPU to get before the fans spin faster.
>>108221819intake.
>>108221697Doesn't clear my motherboard heatsink for NVME. Dated solution unfortunately and can cause more problems later on.

>>108221828I have a AMD 9850X3D.And my CPU cooler is a ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 280 AIO.Any easy why to find out my best fan curve settings?
>>108221854I just want more cases that don't have gay LGBT windows. Is this so much to ask?>but butNo, Thermaltake cases are thin flimsy pieces of shit. They're meant for servers you put in a closet or basement.
>>108221862you could just set a fixed speed via software. run a stress test and find out how much fan speed you can tolerate and at what temp you are going to end up at. and move down from there.
Is there some reason this RAM kit is so cheap?Other 64GB RAM kits are over a $700 to $800
>>108221899That's 32gb?Also new bread bake>>108221901>>108221901
>>108221862I have a similar setup, just with 9800xD. Stock fans were way too loud and aggressive. Asked grok for help and been using the pic related curve. So far works good
>>108221899>400$>cheapkekw
>>108221914You're right, my bad. I clicked onto that from a black 64GB DDR5 kit, and didn't look carefully.
>>108221862>>108221918ryzen cpus like to idle at like 40°C to 60°C so i set a fixed speed between those two so my pc doesn't change the speed all the time.
>>108221918>>108221939Good to know, thank you. I appreciate the advice.
>>108216508Because it's AMD. If it were happening to Intel, you couldn't get away from the tweets and articles reposting reposts of reposts about issues ongoing, just like when some 13th and 14th gens were getting fucked by bad microcode and QC.
>>108221862> AIOProtipp: get a picrel flat (!) wired temperature sensor that you connect to your mobo. Pinch the flat sensor in between the fins of the radiator (if you feel it necessary you can secure it with some thermal conductive glue, I don't do that, there is nothing to fear in case it slips out) best to realize near the exit of the tubing where some fins are very close to each other. Adjust the fan curve of your radiator fans such that the temperature of your radiator stays at or below 30°C. Now your fans will only spin faster in case the radiator is slower at dissipating the heat than the CPU is producing it, preventing unnecessary annoying changes in the speed of the fans with every short spike in CPU activity and temperature.
>>108221962but when will we know the reason it's happening
>>108222004> picrelthis one of course, not my monitoring
>>108221843then your best bet is to get one of those L-shaped brackets
>>108222050Sadly none are y'all enough A nice anon found a 5" collapsible/fat unscrew normal looking anti-sag thing but I was really looking to avoid using it since it's so tacky and not permanently attached to something in my caseI really don't wanna go vertical riser but I mightGonna have to keep my eyes open stillShame about the case / market being so skewed for dumb ricer setups, windows for PC cases are dumb
>>108222170yeah when i bought my meshify c i got the "metal edition" which was just no transparent side panelmy computer is to the left of me against a wall so i have no use for a window
Wouldn't half of these GPU support stands just cause your PCB to twist unevenly anyway? Why don't have X-beam GPU supports or use multiple columns? OR better yet use the motherboard standoffs for a bracket?
>>108222407Looks like someone at Corsair had a similar idea for arches or support beams, except they fucking ruin it by turning it into a stained glass church forcing you to break out the windows so the GPU doesn't wind up in re-circulation hell.
>>108222443Model? I might buy this but never plug in the ARGB
>>108222241having "a use for a window" is the gayest shit ever.
>always add cheap ass arctic p14s into all my builds, silent enough and good airflow>buy new and "improved" arctic p14 pwm pro fans x5 pack, because the old ones aren't on sale / overpriced now>they cheaped out on the screws so hard, that it's physically impossible to screw them into the unthreaded plastic holes without destroying them>luckily noticed how weirdly hard it is before the point of no return>then decided to "pre-screw" all the holes, but the first 2 screws all lodged in harder than excalibur, the head being destroyed to the point that no screwdriver gets any grip anymore>now have to either search for some actually usable screws or just go for other fansfuck you arctic, never againstill finished my build though, just missing the case fans
>>108223708just use the correct bit. problem solved.
>>108223818so far I literally used exactly 1 screwdriver that worked on 100% of all screws for any buildI actually did try a bunch of others for the first time with these shitty arctic screws, to no avail
>>108223858you gotta use a ph 3.5. if the screwdriver doesn't go fully in or feels wiggly you got the wrong one.
