Ed is the default text editor.
Emacs has the best extension language out of all of these choices. Being an Elisp hacker gives you more hacker cred for sure. You weren't filtered by the parentheses, and as a reward, you are blessed with the power of structural editing (which is very satisfying once you get used to it).

I'm a vim user. I respect neovim users. Like they're zoomers, but they're trying to be good. I respect emacs users. It takes dedication to be that autistic. Notepad++ users are just windows boomers. I have nothing but pity for them.
