that sounds like it's related to your audio settings within reaper. you must have it set to take control of your low level audio interface instead of using the one that lets programs output audio together

maybe it's because of the interface you have selected. usually external DACs have a direct hardware option and a software option. i remember seeing this with my own DAC. you need to change your interface to be the same device, but use a software layer so you can use something other than alsa

oh, okay. then you should try going back to pulseaudio and playing with the period settings to see if one of them works. there shouldn't be a reason for you to go searching for audio drivers since your hardware already supposedly works with one of those other options when reaper is not running

Have you looked at a graph of your apps? You should be able to use something like qpwgraph to see if reaper is trying to eat youtube, and redirect youtube to output.

Make sure you have the pipewire-jack package installed and then use the JACK option in reaper. If you use ALSA like in >>108231830 then reaper gets exclusive access to the soundcard and nothing else can use it
