Anyone able to run both REAPER and YouTube at the same time with PipeWire (Linux)?
>>108231617why would you not? does windows not let you run youtube and a daw at the same time?
>>108231695Not sure, but YouTube crashes when Reaper is running and Reaper audio doesn't engage when YouTube is running.
theres somone you forgot to ask for consent first
>>108231709that sounds like it's related to your audio settings within reaper. you must have it set to take control of your low level audio interface instead of using the one that lets programs output audio together
My Reaper settings.
>>108231830change from alsa to something else until youtube works again
>>108231850That's the only one that recognizes my audio interface.
>>108231910can you disable "auto suspend pulseaudio" to get more options?
>>108231922I get this error. Don't know what periods are.
>>108231927what caused that error? did it give you more options other than alsa when you disabled the option?
>>108231956The other options don't work.
>>108231988maybe it's because of the interface you have selected. usually external DACs have a direct hardware option and a software option. i remember seeing this with my own DAC. you need to change your interface to be the same device, but use a software layer so you can use something other than alsa
>>108232031Maybe I can find a Behringer driver or some shit. Thanks, BTW
>>108232066can you screenshot the list of output devices? i think it should show up in that list already, otherwise your youtube would not work in the first place
>>108232094This? Only shows 2. I have an amp and speakers hooked up to my audio interface.
>>108232127oh, okay. then you should try going back to pulseaudio and playing with the period settings to see if one of them works. there shouldn't be a reason for you to go searching for audio drivers since your hardware already supposedly works with one of those other options when reaper is not running
>>108232159Yeah,
>>108231617Have you looked at a graph of your apps? You should be able to use something like qpwgraph to see if reaper is trying to eat youtube, and redirect youtube to output.
>>108231617About audio engine exclusivity:https://support.enginedj.com/en/support/solutions/articles/69000849177-how-to-disable-exclusive-mode-for-my-audio-device-
Make sure you have the pipewire-jack package installed and then use the JACK option in reaper. If you use ALSA like in >>108231830 then reaper gets exclusive access to the soundcard and nothing else can use it
