What went wrong with Intel? I've seen so many people hating on intel CPUs lately in favour of the AM5 chips such as the 9950X3D
>>108233211Intel was struggling to keep their market share, then they compounded on their poor decision by redesigning the CPU naming standards to a format nobody understands or cares to learn. Wtf is an ultra and why are they worse than the previous gen with the good naming standard? I loo at and CPU and I understand where it falls in performance from the name alone. Intel is run by stupid jets and female tech leaders now, morons
Building fabs (on paper) in 3rd world countries 20 minutes from the Lebanon border in a warzone at wartime on fault lines. 3 decades of that shit culminated in a final implosion.
>>10823321112th was still ok-ish. the 13th and 14th flipped the tables.either way, i'll take intel over amd any time.yes, i still hate jews, but amd is unreliable compared to intel, can't have that. gaymers that focus on 2% extra fps won't care.
>>108233211they got complacent. from becoming complacent, they hired ceos who only cared about milking cash.they honestly didn't believe the market would ever move on from 4 cores on the desktop. so all their designed was centered around, 4 cores. in the server market, there was no competition at all, so they figured people would buy whatever shit they put out, because there was absolutely, no one else to buy from.amd pulled a rabbit out of their ass, blind siding them with ryzen. but, intel got lucky, as ryzen 1000 and 2000 series was shit. 1000 was buggy as hell, and in gaming was haswell level of performance when intel had skylake out, which was faster. in non gaming workloads, ryzen 1000 was around broadwell. 2000 series was just 1000 series but less buggy + 100-200mhz uptick.but, because intel got complacent, and put people into senior, and management roles that were only good as yes men to milking consumers, had no battle plan to improve things. so they took skylake, gave it more power consumption, and re-released it like 4 times.this allowed amd to catch up. by ryzen 5000 series amd was marginally faster in non gaming workloads, and identical in gaming workloads.intel panic, got a new ceo, named pat, who was an engineer and a big intel fanboy. he came in, realized how utterly fucked intel was and couldn't do shit.so they released alder lake. finally surpassed skylake in ipc. but holy shit was it a power hog. it was faster than ryzen 5000 in everything, but used wayy more power. then intel released it as 13th gen. and again as 14th gen. then finally released a "successor" called arrowlake but it ended up no being anymore faster and its power savings really only came from them removing hyperthreading.they now have some chinese ceo and the company is still fucked. all because, during their prime in the 2010s, they made some really terrible decisions that fucked themselves in the ass as a self homo fuck. the worst kind of fuck, cause its homosexual.
>>108233265> don’t care about that 2%Funny, to intel zealots a few years ago that 2% was everything. They’d kill or die for it.Then apple made the fastest single core processor for a fucking smartphone, and probably ended up killing x86 and amd64 forever. It’s just running on the remaining momentum that AMD gave it recently so be grateful you’ve had these few extra years. You’re going to be running freebsd on your obscure wintel box before long.Remember when intel stopped checking permissions on pages during speculative execution just to try and stay in the game? And ended up getting banned from all military and government contracts? Ahh, memories.
>>108233304Maybe they will revive Itainium. Just give it to their most advanced real fab: 14 nm and give it 2 kilowatts.
>>108233211Pushed retarded voltages through the 13/14k series to try to keep up with AMD, a lot of people's CPUs melted and now nobody wants to take a gamble on a product that is not only worse, but might burn itself out.
>>108233211AMD is fantastic in Desktop. The new Intel Core Ultra range for mobile devices is fantastic though, great linux support + GPU.
>>108233211>Intel>what went wrongFeminism, Brownism, Gayism, H1Bism, political correctnessism resulting in rustism.
>>108233211They should offer quad and 8 channel memory!
>>108233211nothing, you're falling for paid shill campaigns
>>108233265you could get crazy deals on 14700k and 14900k cpus for awhile after the drama died down and they undervolted really well. the degridation issue was solved with bios updates and using sensible limits/llc. to be honest its a lot easier to fry an amd cpu right now so many people are setting the pbo limits to unlimited and their pbo scalar to 10x and then crying on reddit when their cpu fries, some mobos let you set crazy soc voltages still too like the expensive asus and asrock mobos
>>108233211>that time the israeli backdoors leaked and so every processor took a permanent 15% performance hitthe problem is that jews are about half as smart as they think they are
>>108234490>>108234465>they released a car for $600k they guaranteed would achive speeds of 500 miles per hour.>car over-heated when achieving speeds of 500 miles per hour causing permanent damage to the motor>car manufacturer reduced the speed to 200 miles per hour to avoid permanent damage while keep charging $600k for this borked peace of shit.>intel did nothing wrongAnon, you're a fanboyGet off this board.
>>108234540you lose like 1-2% performance from undervolting and setting sensible limits if you arent retarded or extremely unlucky, realistically you could make most of that loss back from tighter ram timings if you havent already. I dont even have a 14700k anymore I bought a 9850x3d + b850 mobo and sold my 14700k to a friend but it was a very capable cpu. people are having the same issue frying 7000/9000 amd cpus anyway
>>108233211I prefer Intel because the AMD CPU I had before didn't properly report temps to the sensors and gave incorrect readings
>>108234632wouldnt that be the motherboards fault or am i retarded?
>>108233304Put some respect on Lip Bu Tan's name. He was CEO of Cadence for years. You need a chinkoid CEO in semiconductors. That's why Jensen spends so much time over there eating fried chicken with the top dogs at sk hynix and tsmc. You can't get CoWoS allotment with a white CEO. Unless you're apple.
I want to seed n feed Lisa Su.
The government won't allow it to go bankrupt.
>>108233211Unstable CPUs and the amdip myth got debunked by X3DIt's really that simple.
>>108233304Completely, wrong.Intel lost their edge because they bet the farm on 10nm node and refuse to make the leap with EUV litography and thought DUV still have life in it. They also decided to do a number of side projects on the same time. The 10nm node was a dumpster fire and side projects bear no useful fruit.TSMC leadfrog them with EUV and some generous capital expenditure infusions from Apple. Intel and Apple just had a fallout. AMD and Nvidia simply got windfalls from this. Intel thought that Zen was going to be a refined Piledilver. It was nothing but this. It put their entire x86 CPU division on its head and the 10nm was not ready at all. They were forced to hold the fort with 14nm using Skylake derivatives (adding more cores and cache) with factory-sanctioned overclocking to keep gaymers enticed. Ryzen 1xxx and 2xxx familes killed Intel's "cheap HEDT" for Intel while Threadripper was merely the final nail. It was game over with Zen2 and Zen3. Alder Lake was a bit of comeback and Raptor Lake was compentive before Intel resorted to extreme factory overclocking which doomed the higher-end desktop SKUs when their 7nm node couldn't handle the voltage required the clockspeeds they were targeting on most yields.
>>108235035Chink Fuck Intel is going full jew mode because bugment are just ((Them)) with slanty eyes. Pat was actually focusing on funding R&D and trying to solve the H1B problem. Lip bu fucker is going full consulting sell off before company failure. The knmy decent things intel has managed in the past 3 years are the results of Pats changes. When his changes were just starting to pay off they booted him. Intel deserves the sepoku it committed.
