so what's the advantage of using ladybird over chromium or gecko?I mean, we already have 2 browsers, do we really need 3?
>we already have shit and piss, do we really need cum?
>>108235376The two browsers are Chrome and Safari. Firefox has a smaller market share than Internet Explorer.
>>108235540do not hurt me so
>>108235540>i don't know anything about browserstrue
>>108235376But we can't use Ladybirb yet...
>>108235376I always asked this question, what will ladyboy offer over webkit, chromium and gecko? It seems just a worse option made by a crackhead autist, we might be close to getting servo than it. Even if we suppose it can be completed, it will be a nest of bugs and vulnerabilities, and always behind whatever embrace, extend, and extinguish tactics used by w3. And the retards decided to implement everything themselves, instead of using and extending the available options, because I suppose for them it's more a fun quirky thing to do, rather than a serious project. And them embracing rust with AI is enough for me to know we're never getting anything of value. A more sane solution for them, or most people, is to fork chromium or webkit, and customize from that, akin to what brave did. Most people seem to support it as a replacement of big tech, nothing technical I suppose.
>>108235376Nothing, that shit ain't cooked and ready yet.
>>108235540>Firefox has a smaller market shareDon't care, gonna keep using it. Never installing your bravejeet scamware.Get fucked, lol.
>>108235540>hundreds of millions of users don't count because...>they just don't, ok?
>>108236616>A more sane solution for them, or most people, is to fork chromium or webkitThe problem is this makes you immediately responsible for delivering value-add UX features. Spinning your wheels on reimplementing specs for a few years is a much better grift. The world makes way more sense when you remember that most people who start companies just want a few years of investor-funded lunches.
>>108235376Dunno if advantage, but it recently got an AI-assisted Rust rewrite.
>>108235433>food analogy
>>108235376I wish Nyxt wasn't completely broken and incomplete. I have no clue what Ladybird offers, it looks the same as everything else.
The ones we have are all compromised, a mix of bad incentives toward surveillance/data stealing and past episodes of doing just that.An entirely new and open source browser with no dependencies on mozilla/google components and whose development is funded by donations goes a long way toward eliminating those problems. Like everything else it will one day corrupt itself but I'm sure we can get at least a decade out of it without worrying too much.
>>108239430>An entirely new and open source browser with no dependencies on mozilla/google componentsthat was serenity. ladybird split from serenity precisely to break the "no dependencies" requirement. ladybird uses google's skia for graphic rendering.ladybird's only hard-rule is to never adopt another browser engine such as blink, webkit, gecko.
>>108235376>I mean, we already have 2 browsers, do we really need 3?>2 browsers>2 browsersWho is going to tell him? ;)

>>108235376It's the Bill of Rights not the Bill of Needs
>>108235376basically working adblock and thats it
>>108235376Mozzila sucks and Chrome is controlled by Google
>>108235376I’m rooting for it because it’s run by a guy who isn’t a faggot or pro-faggotry
>>108235376breaking the current browser monopoly would allow websites to be faster and easier to accomodate for all devices, and it would also allow much lighter browsers even if ladybird itself is not light.
>>108244684did they say it's not gonna be light?
>>108245026I said it would allow browsers to be light even if ladybird itself isn't, not that ladybird wasn't light.
>>108235376>chromium or gecko?I can't hear your post over the awesomeness of the Sea Monkey browser I'm running.
>>108235376>we already have 2 browsers... where the main purpose is to pump as much information about you to the motherships as possible, violating all rules of privacy on a scale not previously imagined. These misfunctions also drain your cell phone battery.Yes, yes, we do need Ladybird. It is our only hope for a better future.
>>108245679>Sea MonkeyThere are many good things to say about Seamonkey but tragically it is too slow and the UI eats too much screen area. It has deccades of technical debt and is not well maintained.A fresh start, keeping the principles from Seamonkey, would be good. Firefox was supposed to be a de-bloated Netscape Navigator but gained bloat at an alarming rate.
>>108235376There is only one browser: Chrome. Google sets web standards. Everyone else follows. There is zero point in Ladybird existing. The only browser anyone should be using is Chrome.
>>108235376It would be nice to have a browser that's independent from Google. But unfortunately Google will mess with their own sites to make any 3rd party browser unusable, they already did so with IE and they definitely will with Ladybird lest it become a success.
>>108245361uh, you said that we could make light browsers even if ladybird wasn't light. that means ladybird is light. how else could that mean?

>>108235376nothing since they ai slopped their codebase
>>108235376YesLadybird is written in Rust.
>>108248010what the fuck are you trying to say retard
>>108235376Well, it's over.
>>108246926>There is only one browser: Chrome. That is what people once said about Intenet Explorer. They too were wrong.
>>108250267They also said it about Netscape Navigator before that.

>>108237605this, firefox was always a niche with white males. there are just a billion indians online now and they all use chrome, so the marketshare% is down
