News: Nano Banana 2 is here. It's Flash 3.1 based, apparently. It might be identical or very close to what that weird Pollo.ai was using. You can use it by setting Gemini to Fast (Pro uses NBP, which Gemini 3 Pro based).
Result with the same prompt as above (that was NBP in Flowith with reference for the kitsune sign). It looks good enough, albeit it's quite consistent in making her fur more reddish and it seems to struggle with the kitsune sign (but that might have been luck before, I used to fail even with references). It is *very* slow at the moment, it spends an eternity with that "Loading Nano Banana 2" message; it might just be because people are raping it, though. Limits appear to be high enough, I'm at the 6th attempt on the same free account. Also>Pro uses NBPthis was wrong, my bad. Even using Pro seems to default to Nano Banana 2 at the moment. No idea if it's a direct replacement for Gemini, then.
It's still paid on AI Studio, pricing is much lower, though.
Another comparison with the same prompt, NBP on left, NB2 on right.
>>108244792Is there any way to go back 1?
>>108245061I want my face between her legs immediately!
Wasn't seedance 2 supposed to launch a few days ago?How come I can't find it on any platforms without VPN into China?Tried Higgsfield and Dreamina/capcut
>>108245037Do you mean the original Nano Banana or Nano Banana Pro? Pro is being replaced for free and AI Plus (8€/month) tier users:https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/technology/ai/nano-banana-2/>Gemini app: Nano Banana 2 will replace Nano Banana Pro across the Fast, Thinking and Pro models. Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers will keep access to Nano Banana Pro for specialized tasks by regenerating images via the three-dot menu. The original Nano Banana remains available for free on AIStudio:https://aistudio.google.com/prompts/new_chat?model=gemini-2.5-flash-imageCuriously it's the only model that is available for free now, recently they made the whole Imagen4 series paid... As if... someone was actually using it? I still haven't hit any limit on my main Gemini account, no idea if it falls back on the original NB or just stops generating pictures when I'll eventually hit the limit. On another note, Nano Banana 2 adds more supported aspect ratio, including ultrawide ones mentioned just the other day, up to 8:1 and 1:8 (but they forgot 9:21):https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/image-generation#aspect_ratios_and_image_sizeIt's really interesting because this actually makes it *better* than NBP in some ways (NBP2 when?). They also added a probably pointless 0.5k resolution...For the record, NB2 is already available on Flowith, if anyone wants to experiment with it at higher resolution than Gemini (Flowith had a placeholder for it since forever). It's overloaded as fuck right now, though. I'll try to play with it later.
>>108244792it's been like that for 10 minutes
so NB2 has pricing tier on size, wonder if 2K is actually native this time? or is 4K just higher to tell you to fuck off and upscale it yourself
(noticed NBP was $0.24 for 4K, never touched that anyway)
>>108245467>forgot 9:21it's there
dayumI also had an old prompt mentioning visible panties and NB2 outputted text "I cannot create images with visible panties".
>>108245625Overload because of the new model, probably. Gemini and Flow seem to work fine-ish on my end, though.>>108245756Only 21:9, there's not the vertical, inverted (9:21) option, whereas they have included 1:4 and 1:8.
>>108245812sorry I'm blind
NB2 is basically half price NBP for 1MP. Still messes up the "bundle of fabric" part, I'll need to wrangle it better.
>>108245467That's fantastic, thanks. The new model in gemini is much more strict with the adult gen stuff
>>108245995Could you even do any "adult" gens with the old one?
>>108246006Nudity is a problem but that's ok with me because I just like women with massive bosoms, scantly clothed ones are fine. The new model seems to forbid certain proportions more often.
>>108245851NP, anon, I'm half-blind myself. It's something that I noticed quickly just because the lack of 9:21 in NBP always puzzled me a bit (i.e. it's autism).>>108245884For 1k, limits appear so generous on Gemini that one could just settle on it? Well, unless it boils down to filters. Are you using Vertex/AI studio?>>108245995I've not tested it in that sense yet, but I was having issues even with simple "lingerie" on Gemini the other day (apron with lingerie, specifically, this: >>108235694 ); I'm not sure if the filters got updated with the new model or separately. Was it working as usual for you in the last few days?
>>108246083I prefer whorish realism myself. You have to hide it a bit within a longer prompt. Lace lingerie, bustier, off-the-shoulder neckline, ample cleavage, spaghetti straps, bosom, bodycon, tube top, tube dress, tight, sheer, see-through, microskirt, derriere, busty are some terms I've used without much problem.Sometimes you ask for a woman to be in a bikini and it won't do it, you say she's wearing a bikini because she's about to go to the beach and it gets through
>>108245114Prompt? pls >~<
>"mimeType": "image/png",Interesting, NB2 returns PNGs using Google's official endpoint whereas NBP still gives me JPGs

>>108246083I'm fine with 1K honestly.Out of GCP credits awhile ago. >>108245779 and >>108245884 were OpenRouter (I mainly use it for LLMs) which afaik doesn't stack their own filter over it and technically has text output enabled, rarely kicks in and very pointless, in their chat UI.Otherwise I'd use Arena when I don't have request issues.
>>108246083stop posting any time
Damn did they increase the strictness of the nsfw check? It really hates shibari (even some fully clothed ones) kek
>>108246158I was trying some solutions that I expected to pass the filter, but I guess NBP was rewriting the prompt quite conveniently, nightdress, nightwear, even babydoll, weren't blocked per se, but they got completely ignored in that context and she was given a normal dress. Eventually I settled on intentionally misspelt lingerie (ligerie) on Arena.>>108246240It seems to give PNGs on Flowith too, which might confirm that the issue there actually boils down to Google...>>108246453I prefer 2K as compromise and NBP didn't even make it a problem since 1k and 2k had the same pricing like it was mentioned above...For the record, the limit on Gemini for free accounts appears to be 10 pictures (per day? It's the number of gens I got today, but I actually had a couple of NBP gens done today *before* they launched NB2). Then it *does* fall back on the old (Flash 2.5) Nano Banana.
Nano Banana 2 is VASTLY inferior, it doesn't even get the aspect ratio that I ask from it correctly, how do I go back to Pro?
>>108246466Yes
>>108246729It *does* get the correct aspect ratio on my end, both using Gemini, where you have to specify it in the prompt, and Flowith, where you can just use a switch. You can go back to NBP by... paying for Google AI Pro (apparently it gives a "regenerate with Pro" button), using Vertex/GoogleCloud or using 3rd party providers that rely on those services (like Flowith itself). They made it explicit that it's gone for free/Plus users on Gemini. It's actually quite difficult to tell apart the two models, often enough.

>>108247612>reached your Pro model limit>Am I back to using Pro instead of 2 now?I guess you made a typo in either sentence; of course you can just try it yourself, but if you were using NB2/Flash-3.1, it should default on NB1/Flash-2.5. If you were using NBP/Pro-3, through the Pro subscription, I have no idea.
>>108247721 (Me)Actually, I guess you're referring to the Pro thing message that is triggered by Fast/Pro/Thinking model selection. That's unrelated, they all default to NB2 for free/Plus accounts. It should keep giving you NB2 until you hit its own limit.
>>108243746will google also kill gemini-3-pro-image-preview on march 9?
>>108247932Unlikely in my opinion, but the removal of Google 3 Pro from AIStudio actually bothers me, 3.1 Pro doesn't actually output prompts in the same way... Mah, I might switch to 3 Flash or see how to instruct 3.1 Pro to actually structure the prompt instead of outputting them into a single line of text...
>>108247932Don't know but OpenAI is killing Sora 1 on March 13.

>>108247721I have a Pro subscription and it hits the limit after I make 15-20 images. Usually I'd be able to make like 50 before hitting a limit

>>108248184Still incredible to me that DALL-E3 has the most stylistic competency of any image generator despite its age and lower quality, yet they never updated or improved it. It has never been as good as it was in early October 2023
>>108249140>yet they never updated or improved it.They DID update it, they just didn't improve it. They did the PR16 update which reduced the color depth, and then pretended it was an improvement because it generated images faster. An example of random, if discretely, placed nonsensical text generated completely by NB2.
>>108249088
Picrelated is NBP. The one before was NB2. NB2 actually followed prompt and reference more closely, albeit I guess this boils down a lot to how both models can be quite random between different generations.
>>108252346>>108252406NB2 doesn't even look like an improvement. Looks less detail and blurrier.
>>108252733The idea was having a blurred background, the inspiration and reference was thishttps://yande.re/post/show/230826turned into pinkish/spring colours. There really seems to be no way of requesting pngs from NBP. I wonder what the sites that produce them do, maybe use Vertex instead of AI studio. Gemini gave an interesting suggestion, to decode the base64 and re-encode it as png. Imagemagick identifies it as a real png...
>>108257987>nudes
It's funny how the real issue isn't the filter, but the prompt rewriting.
Who would win: Turk or Turkey?>>108246039Eww, is he cutting himself?
Experimentation reveals flaws (not surprising) in Banana, one being an inclination to copy and paste if you ask for something too similar to the input image (in this case the three-quarter view) and it doesn't understand what you want different.Regarding the "top to bottom / left to right" comment I made at bottom, I had thought of genning a row of bikinis on top in hopes of having the bottom row try to match but it apparently doesn't work that way.

Mentioning it just in case people missed it, on leddit people are arguing that selecting "fast" in Gemini disables "thinking" for NB2 too.https://www.reddit.com/r/Bard/comments/1rfh4bv/a_guide_to_the_new_nano_banana_flash_31/I've played little with NB2 on Gemini after its release, but some quick testing makes me wonder if it might be correct. Anyone else? Also, the Deepmind page seems to confirm that 2k and 4k are upscaled.https://deepmind.google/models/gemini-image/flash/Which makes me wonder how 0.5k works, a separate native resolution?
>>108262568>Also, the Deepmind page seems to confirm that 2k and 4k are upscaled.I think it's meant as upscaling reference images
Apparently getting "half-nude" or "convenient placement" in NB2 is easier said than done. At least it didn't reject it for obscene content.
>>108263259Oh, forgot to mention, the prompt was> Make an illustration of an Amazon aiming a bow. She wears armor that, covers one half of her chest, while the other half is nude, yet covered by the conveniently-placed arrow
>>108263219Google's Flow literally offers upscaling (2k for free, 4k for paying users) as part of the download process (for both NB2 and NBP), though. I'm not sure if it's just its own idiosyncrasy.>>108263259Tried it a bit, going even with painterly styles that tend to give nudity unprompted, it didn't really like the concept a lot. Eventually I moved it to my nonsense and I got this, but it was really random:https://files.catbox.moe/n8wctg.jpg
>>108264218It helps her aim better.
