>>108259819I think it was just cocos3d... they weren't java and it was before C# so I'm thinking it was C++ and mostly cocos.http://cocos3d.org/>>108259839>theyre called libraries>god i fucking hate modern dev speakew gross no. they're called game engine newfag.
>>108259819I had a dream of getting rich so I could buy the assets from every dead Korean MMO from the 00s and then develop a massive low-poly single player RPG with it. Unfortunately, I'm still broke.
>>108259839unc moment
>>108261070Just hire someone to make models on blender then. Low poly artstyle with hand drawn textures are extremely common.
>>108261070I love you anon.>>108261044Most of those Korean companies had their own in-house game engine highly specialized for their style of MMORPG. Each company was spamming multiple titles with the same engine and hoping to export publising rights worldwide.
>>108259839It's called Workload actually
>>108259819An old korean mmo called Mabinogi used an in house engine called Pleione engine. Comfy game but was a complete mess held together with bubble gum and duck tape. Not sure if this was an NA thing but the game used 3D text folded to look like 2D. This in returned caused the game to have major lag spikes when opening menus. Eventually they would fix that and many other strange lag occurrences.......after 10 years.Like the other anon mentioned, a lot of them were done in house but I kind think they borrowed some stuff though. Some of those old korean mmos looked like took everything made by Falcom and turned them into mmmos.
i dont know, they start with the engine then progressively working and adding sytems then a bit more then fix issues with related systems having small bugs because new systems or refactor ones then you start praying everything just works and dont give aa fuck anymore about what is doing just want it be functionaly "working". Happened to with this small idler web game.
>>108261709They are using unreal now.
>>108261776that sounded personal
>>108261570I can't believe they put Rashid there
These games almost all look the same but there is also something attractive about them.
>>108262664They were all copies Legend of Mir 2, which was a copy of Diablo 2 but with asian folklore. No one in the west knows about this game but it was like, WoW levels of popular in Asia. Then every korean company tried to clone it like they always do.
>>108259819You can't enter the same river twice.Even if it looks just like a real mmo.
>>108259819They were created using C++, RPGML and some other weird and underground languages
>>108264346But why you need it?
>>108259819modified unreal engine
>>108263824The concept of the river doesn't change just because the exact same water molecules have moved, anone.Just like you don't suddenly become unrecognizable to your friends when you lose one hair of your head.
