In my last job, one woman was a "technical coordinator" of some acceleration program (I don't remember the name), which aims to get more women into the tech field. Now, that's fine, but she wasn't a technical person by any stretch of imagination, didn't know how to code or even how to connect to an FTP server using FileZilla. Another time, I overheard HR talking about how they shouldn't hire anyone who "isn't fun to be around", no matter how good they are technically. It's just a different world.
