BROS....
are test benches a meme?why do people make such elaborate test benches when you can just put a motherboard on top of newspaper pages near the edge of the desk so that PCI cards fit?
>>108267914they have a youtube channel
>>108267925oh ok that explains it
>>108267914Basically tech reviewers have the hardest job in the world. They have to unplug a GPU, and then replug it into the motherboard every time they want to test a new GPU.It takes literally minutes. So, in order to save themselves these agonising minutes, they get some retarded bench set up that lets them do it more quickly.Of course, this is completely inaccurate for benchmaking because nobody runs a computer like this and therefore the thermals are completely inaccurate for any real-world usage. But, hey, being a youtuber earning thousands of dollars talking about GPUs is hard, okay?
>>108267699Are transients real or is it just something companies made up to sell you higher power psus than you need?
>>108267969ah i just want to use mine to test components, im not gonna test thermals or anything ill just change the thermal paste if it needs it
>>108268002They're real. But also PSU Wattage isn't.Wattage on a PSU just refers to amount of watts that a PSU is guaranteed to be able to convert consistently. They can tolerate spikes and deliver power above their rating. It doesn't just cut off once your 850W is hit by a 851W load.
>>108267914>hit test bench accidentally>probably stays in place>hit motherboard resting on a newspaper accidentally>probably falls onto the floor and breaksand other such considerations

The only feedback I'm looking for is improving the build. My question: Is it worth going Intel for the increased memory speeds? It seems AMD can only handle 6000mhz for some reason? At that point it becomes a fight between speed and cache?(don't suggest Nvidia, I don't want to encourage them with AI frame generation)

Not necessary though. If your main goal is to play games on it I would stick to AMD. If you're planning to do some more productive things then maybe consider Intel. I'm pretty sure AMD can go above 6000mhz, I think it's a motherboard issue though. Honestly I just kept it at 6000mhz and haven't felt the need to bother.
>>108268678nta but the Prime series Asus' lowest tier, and I think I heard their 9070xt Prime runs a little worse than the other 9070xts out there. I don't think it's a big deal, but I have no personal experience and it just depends on how you feel about the issue. Plus I think you can still get the 9070xt Prime for $699 if you buy it directly from Asus if you've made an account with them and logged in. That's probably as low as you can go on a 9070xt these days.

somewhere there was a massive table made by autists documenting every power supply and its overall quality with notes about common user issues and other stuffi cannot fucking find it, i cant see it in the op either, does anyone know what im talking about

I did not realize OLED consumes as much power as a CPU.this is literally just techtuber technology for people dumb enough to have 5090s and 2 KW desktop setups.
>>108271727will never buy an oled, dont care how much it apparently changes my life when i see the color quality.the fact it still has a burn-in issue makes it dogshit. ill consider it when they fix that
>>108271748that's another thing wrong with it. this is tech for CONSOOMERS.
>>108271295anyone who can tolerate VA is retarded lol
>>108271748>ill consider it when they fix thatnot possible to fix thanks to the O in OLED
>>108269166No dust filters in the front and side panels, only in bottom. Has no wheels and no option to install wheels, will be near impossible to move once packed with heavy hardware. Also no metal panel option. I considered it temporarily when looking for a case that can take an ALF3 420 in top, ended up with a ProArt PA602 Wood Edition Metal Panel. No regret. Required some customization but is perfect now.
>>108271772doesnt have to be oled. something with the color quality and inky blacks of an oled, without the fact its ruined if i leave my pc on overnight, which i do all the time
>>108271748I feel like OLEDs are only worth it for TVs or if you only really use your PC for gaming exclusively. I couldn't imagine using one to shitpost for hours.
OLED is simply the best, back when my Switch OLED was my only OLED device I willing chose to play several multiplats games on it instead of on my PC with an IPS monitor

>>10827172750-70w is not a lot. Halogen and Incasadent light bulbs use the same amount. So does your AMD CPU system at idle. Using the microwave for 30s is way more power than your monitor.
thoughts?why are there no 2160 TN? at least none that are in stock. I guess because TN has found its niche as the gaming panel, and gamers don't care about resolution?

>>108271806No, because gamers that are willing to shell out for a 5090 for high refresh rates at 4k skip straight to OLED. OLED is better than LCDs in basically every way except burn in, but, if you're already lighting money on fire, why care about burn in.

>>108269041It's just because people do a calculation and think they can get away cheaper by keeping their AM4 motherboard and DDR4 RAM instead of buying new. This may be true but you oc would get much better value with AM5, even with a slower CPU than that, faster games and productivity and a future upgrade option. I still own and use a 5800X3D in a secondary PC, it's the holy grail of gaming on AM4 but only worth getting under 300 bucks in my opinion. You get decent AM5 boards for 150-200, a 7800X3D for 300 and 32GB of DDR5 from 250. It doesn't make sense to pay 640 for a 5800X3D.

>>108271842>WAH WAHH WAHH>INSULTSsorry OLED salesman. I am energy conscious and your monitors consume more power than my fridge and my satellite internet. keep coping about your excessive spending habits instead of talking about the point, which is that OLED consumes more power than LCD.

>>108271895no it's because every time you try to discuss LCD monitors a bunch of faggots start flaming you and telling you to buy an OLED.I have purchased 2 monitors in 20 years. why the fuck would I want an OLED?
OLED or nothing, simple asI've tried everything and honestly playing on OLED has been more impressive to me than going from a RTX 2060 to a 4090
