Basically tech reviewers have the hardest job in the world.
They have to unplug a GPU, and then replug it into the motherboard every time they want to test a new GPU.
It takes literally minutes.

So, in order to save themselves these agonising minutes, they get some retarded bench set up that lets them do it more quickly.

Of course, this is completely inaccurate for benchmaking because nobody runs a computer like this and therefore the thermals are completely inaccurate for any real-world usage.

But also PSU Wattage isn't.

Wattage on a PSU just refers to amount of watts that a PSU is guaranteed to be able to convert consistently.
They can tolerate spikes and deliver power above their rating. It doesn't just cut off once your 850W is hit by a 851W load.

My question: Is it worth going Intel for the increased memory speeds? It seems AMD can only handle 6000mhz for some reason? At that point it becomes a fight between speed and cache?

But for real, looks fine for the most part. Maybe a different case. If you don't mind a white case, the Corsair 4000D RS Frame is on sale for lower than the one you have selected and it comes with 3 fans.
I'm pretty sure you'll be fine with a 850w PSU if you want to save a few extra bucks. Not necessary though.

If your main goal is to play games on it I would stick to AMD. If you're planning to do some more productive things then maybe consider Intel. I'm pretty sure AMD can go above 6000mhz, I think it's a motherboard issue though. Honestly I just kept it at 6000mhz and haven't felt the need to bother.

I don't think it's a big deal, but I have no personal experience and it just depends on how you feel about the issue. Can anyone dumb down monitors for me?
The top row is what I get searching the OP ones. Bottom row is if I just search generic "1440p monitor". The price difference is quite staggering and I don't know if I'd really "need" top of the line since I don't even know anything about monitors.

Really I just want a solid 1440p gaming monitor for as little as I'd need to spend to get it. That isn't say I want to cheap out and get something shitty just to save money, but I also don't want to pay hundreds more than I have to for some very small improvements.

What are the bare minimum or recommended specs I should look out for on a monitor to seriously considering buying?
Any standout brands that are very good to go with (or ones to avoid at all cost)?
And how much am I really losing if I go for a cheaper option?

Any PSU recommendations? My setup is a 9800x3D/4080S, both heavily overclocked.
Current PSU is a 10 years old Gigabyte GH750 which I'm getting kind of weary of, I always avoid running tasks that max out both CPU and GPU just in case.

It's probably overkill but I was looking at 1000w PSUs just to be safe and hit peak efficiency, my options locally seem to be :

I tried acetone and it worked but I never tried dish soap versus normal for a full scrub and submerge, didnt want to strip more of the powder coat since it protects against rust I think. I should have tried this first before going for the stronk chemicals.

Never messed with fan speeds before. What's the best settings to tune my case fans and my PS120SE fans so that way it's silent while idle but can keep my shit cool when I game? I'm just worried I'll set it wrong.

I posted yesterday about getting crashes after a new gpu and tower switch, i reseated my RAM (ddr4 32x2 3200 mhz vengeance lpx) and then my computer just wouldn't boot but the dram error light was shining. I messed around a little and now the computer boots in the 1&3 slot. Two questions:

GPU probably doesn't matter, I would lean towards some of the AMD OG's though, like sapphire and powercolor.

i've been gaming on pcs for well over 25 years, i have irl friends with gaming rigs of varying quality, i have plenty of comparisons to work with, and i was converted to the church of Ultrabased by a friend with a much worse ultrawide than mine.
I could upgrade to a better one tomorrow, but i have no reason to, as this one works great and its not OLED so it runs as well as the day i bought it.

My merc also works fine, as i manually adjust the fan speeds, its in a quality case so the noise isn't bad anyway, and i have a good headset with noise cancelling.

I did not realize OLED consumes as much power as a CPU.

No dust filters in the front and side panels, only in bottom. Has no wheels and no option to install wheels, will be near impossible to move once packed with heavy hardware. Also no metal panel option. I considered it temporarily when looking for a case that can take an ALF3 420 in top, ended up with a ProArt PA602 Wood Edition Metal Panel. No regret. Required some customization but is perfect now.

50-70w is not a lot. Halogen and Incasadent light bulbs use the same amount. So does your AMD CPU system at idle. Using the microwave for 30s is way more power than your monitor.

It's just because people do a calculation and think they can get away cheaper by keeping their AM4 motherboard and DDR4 RAM instead of buying new. This may be true but you oc would get much better value with AM5, even with a slower CPU than that, faster games and productivity and a future upgrade option. I still own and use a 5800X3D in a secondary PC, it's the holy grail of gaming on AM4 but only worth getting under 300 bucks in my opinion. You get decent AM5 boards for 150-200, a 7800X3D for 300 and 32GB of DDR5 from 250. It doesn't make sense to pay 640 for a 5800X3D.

it's worse than my 1080 TN panel. I don't like the colors either. dark scenes are too dark, bright scenes are too bright, and you can't discern any details in either environment when I had no problems with my washed out TN.
