Companies create profiles of patterns out of user data that are not your exact data but mirror it very closely. They're a series of statistics that influence eachother. Basic gist is that you fall into a very niche category on one system, they trade your data for other copies of your data (by matching up other signatures like hardware and times of use) and then when they're confidently synchronized, they synchronize the feeds too.
