Why is C++ dying?
>dyinghttps://herbsutter.com/2025/12/30/software-taketh-away-faster-than-hardware-giveth-why-c-programmers-keep-growing-fast-despite-competition-safety-and-ai/What are you yapping about lil bro?
>>108276678Bro doesn’t even code
>>108276660Tiobe and StackOverflow statistics aren't good.You want job demands on linkedin or amount of new code in github.
>>108278788amount of new code on github = amount of training data fed to AI for that language
>>108278788I speculate lots of people migrate to C++ after getting hired for something high level. Also isn't github only for open source shit?
>>108276678Such a dumb article. Is he seriously trying to claim that c, php, java are insecure? Newsflash, code that people rely on have the largest amount of REPORTED security bugs. Most people don't applications on-top of C++ code cause most C++ code bases are bloated, tangled messes of applications. The top 2 error categories in c and C++ are the SAME!!! (and all 6 are solved problems) The difference is entirely made up of people actually use c software.
>>108276660>C++ dyingFucking COBOL isn't even dead yet.
>>108276660You know why.
>>108276660not worth the effort for 99% of projects
C++ is still one of the most popular languages.
>>108276660anyone who's actually used it knows the answer.
>>108280515this. a lot of commercial shitware is C++ and it's likely full of more holes than some of the most buggy open source C shitware. You just don't hear about them because most wage slaves don't care or are outright too incompetent to find and exploit them.

>>108279548I posted both because both are important.You can't just look at jobs and existing code because that only gives you the "now".If there were a stable change in new code with typescript becoming 50% of all code written on github you can bet your house that it would translate to more jobs and a university curriculum refocus on it.
I hope to have contributed to its demise.
