What do you mean what, a Flatpaked app is an app that was packaged into the Flatpak format (and most likely published into Flathub, the main repo with Flatpaked apps). Flatpak runs all apps in a sandbox. If an app isn't Flatpaked you can't install it through Flatpak, but you can probably install it "normally", however some Fedora Silverblue and Fedora Kinoite and similar immutable distros based on OSTree are based on the assumption that everything you install will be installed with Flatpak, installing something normally isn't as easy there

Ubuntu has not been destroyed by normies. It self destructed because it's a corpo distro. Gnome self destructed mostly because of its retarded dev team but corpo influence played a part. Systemd's cancer like tendencies are brought about by the corpo that pushes it. While corpos are normies chasers they are not chasing normies exclusively. My sister is a professional artist using a windows PC and my brother is a product owner and has to use antiquated wangblows software which he does through a VM on the company provided mac. Same with my father except he uses a windows laptop. While my brother can do with a VM my sister can't because it's a miserable experience with adobe software. You also don't want to run a VM for more than 50% of your time using the PC. You're better off just running win11 at this point. And no the open source alternatives don't cut it.

Because of snap there's always 3-4 gnome versions because calculator might have a specific version as a dependency.
Snaps are slower and take a huge amount of space, and so does journald though that's not an Ubuntu specific-problem.

ZorinOS is the only linux distro that is even halfway decent. Mint 22.3 destroyed their desktop it looks ugly and unintuitive with bad changes but it does have superior software store as it really does just werk and the updater is one of a kind but the desktop doesnt even come close to windows 11 or 10's functionality/theming.

Zorin isn't perfect. For example light theme on certain apps is broken like the videos/photo viewer which makes the distro look amateurish, there's not many accents and the software store is absolute garbage which also makes it look unpolished since its guhnome software so it doesnt load icons. The software store still works sure, but why include a software store that cant browse through software where the icons are broken.


ZorinOS would be perfect if they replaced gnome software with bazaar and flatpaks only and they fixed some of the theme problems.
