Very few of these brands design their own case fans.
They test a variety ODM product samples and pick a decently performing one.

I'm looking for a monitor, I have already 2 1080p monitors, not sure if I want to replace one of keep both to have 3.
I have a RX6800XT, I'm not sure it would be good idea to get a 4K screen. I don't really care about refreshment rates 100Hz would be enough for my use cases, being some office work, a bit of gaming. My laptop has an OLED screen, I really like it but being a europoor NEET I sadly can't buy a thousand eurodollars OLED display, so if you have recommandation for the above, but with the best possible contrast short of OLED, I'm all ears. The budget is about 400€.

does windows not constantly resize all your apps, and move them from monitor to monitor as it feels like? Also it suddenly takes forever to boot up, only addition is a 4k monitor where I had 2 1440p before.

Nah, I don't play AAA in general, JPRGs or Tacticals, some emulation and that's about it. That's why I'm honestly considering getting the type of office monitor for art people with nice colors and all.
This is above my price range (about 560€) but I could get that next month :

It's cheap but it has 1000:1 contrast ratio

It' goes for about 500€, at that point going the the ROG OLED monitor doesn't seem that bad.
I just hope it's not as dog shit as it used to be.

kek. classic. my work laptop and desktop both have issues with tripple monitors (both at 1080p and 1440p) (disconnecting and not waking up mostly). the notebook has a 3060 and the desktop has a 4060. my old notebook had a t500 and my old desktop had a 1650. i had zero issues before with tripple monitors. my brother has a 3060 12gb in his desktop pc with only two monitors and he has zero issues. when i had my 4070 i also had zero issues but that was with also only two monitors. i am now running a 9070xt. also no issues. one of my coworkers also has a new notebook with a 3060 and he also has issues with tripple monitors since he switched. didn't have any before. sounds like it is a new issue.

I kinda feel like it's a windows issue. but yeah I had no issues with 2 1440p monitors on this computer
>>
>>108328421
i can't say the same really. i switched back to my old notebook because i wanted to know and updated everything. drivers, windows (ran windows 11 since it came out) and anything that lenovo wanted. used it for a few days and i had zero issues. problem is that it is now quiet old and the usb ports don't work and the battery is giving up as well.

hey my PC is in a giant case and I want to put it in a smaller one that will fit on my desk horizontally. I was thinking about getting a HTPC case but they're kinda expensive. Would building in a server case be a viable alternative? Ideally one with lots of 3.5 drive bays because my current case only has 2.

the desk provides space for things to put on it, things you interact with
you cant interact with a box, its just a waste of space

functional people even go and buy monitor arms to get more desk space instead of redundant monitor stand

Would it make sense to replace the stock fans on my thermalright phantom spirit? The stock fans have no rubber corner pads and Arctic P12 pro fans are cheap as shit and have those built in and seem to be better overall. There's some resonance and I already have vibration dampeners on all my case fans so that might be causing it
>>
>>108329059
it should be fine. i bought the assassin x last month and i found the fan to be a bit disappointing so what you're really paying for is the tower cooler
>>
>>108329077
Turns out it does have those anti vibration things in the corners after all and some guy on youtube made a test with arctic p12's and noctuas fancy 120mm fans and they performed worse than the stock fans. Maybe thermalright achieved the results they did because they made the fans to fit that cooler. Maybe your issue is different since you have a single tower cooler

It probably costs Noctua a dollar or two to make a fan and a single fab cycle probably lasts them most of the year.

It's the best for high refresh rates
If you want 4k, just use DLDSR on your 1440p screen
>>
1440p only got better/more relevant with the ultra high hz screens, nvidia multi frame gen, pulsar
but at the same time the 5070 power levels and dlss transformer model also mean 4k is perfectly viable since you run games at 1080p base res, at the same time we have 4k qd oled displays so theres little compromise going on with that route
>>
>>108329508
a basic 27 inch 1440p 144+++ Hz IPS is the sweet spot because it costs $150-250 and looks "good enough"
if I got a 4K monitor I'd be concerned with how long my RTX 5070 can stay relevant, as even today in demanding games I need to use DLSS Balanced + 2x FG to hit 120+ FPS
>>
>>108329429
4k looks way better and it isn't as easy to push for high refresh gaming like 1080p. its just an awkward middle child jack of all trades master of none
>>
I've found that going from IPS to OLED was infinitely more stunning than going form 1440p to 4k

The future is klarna
>>
>>108329873
actually the #1 purchase then is a monitor arm
then you dont need to care about the drawer positioning for your 2nd monitor

>new x3d cpus for am4
Why new ones? They won't be better than the 5800x3d...
>>
>>108329856
>12 GIGS VRAM IS NOT ENOUGH ANYMORE
for what?
>>
>>108329893
its prob a refresh of 5800x3d.
but new as in a new production line since they quit making them years ago
>>
>>108329856
you can play anything on a 2080 Ti, 3080 Ti, 4070/Super or 5070 at 1440p, it's literally fine. 12GB is okay

>I want a 5090 to play shit AAAslop!

I hope you're doing ai gen
>>
>>108329893

>>
>>108329842
see, this is where you put your pc on the ground
it's not even a question of aesthetics anymore, you need the space
>>
>>108329864
if you can't organise your finances to actually BUY a fucking gpu, thats not even expensive, you shouldn't buy it on credit. You're too brown to be a PCMR, go buy a used ps5 Ranjeesh.
>>
>>108329943
I could buy it outright
just some easy credit score innit
>>
good monitor for a really bright room? i have to giant south facing windows in my bedroom, and can't see shit on my screen during the day currently
i know i can use blinds but i prefer to have then open as i like the bright room vibe
>>
>>108329943
nta but it really depends. on things which won't go down in value over the repayment period then instalment plans make sense. RAM (mentioned last thread) on klarna/afterpay/paypal in 4 guarantees you the item and ensures that once the repayment period is ended, you have the item at pretty much full price if you decide to sell it right away
during normal times, i would also advise against video cards since we were supposed to get new ones every year....but remember that they're going to drastically cut down on card production and release less models, RAM is going to be completely frozen and the industry is trying to transition away from pc ownership into a cloud model
it might not be too crazy to do it right now honestly. the cards we buy today are probably going to be topspec until 2030 where the only progression is software-side and AI redrawing in DLSS/FSR
>>
>>108329950
a vr headset
something like a matte samsung g8 oled monitor thats facing away from the window
get decent blackout curtains
>>
>>108329963
>get decent blackout curtains
like i said i have blackout blinds but prefer to work in a bright room it helps my mood
>>
>>108329962
i suspect at least AMD and Intel-aviv will release 1 more generation of cards, probably at a 50+% markup, and Njudea might drop a refresh of their current lineup with more ram and gimmick-tech tacked-on, but that'll be it until the megacorpos remove our ability to own our own pcs.
