>>108328315>Snagged the last one at the Apple Store. What can I do with it?Waste timeGetting cuckedWatching it getting slower with every updateNot being able to upgradeYeah, worth the money...
give it back
>>108328315Host an image board in it.
>>108328426>Use it as a server for hosting games for your friendsIs a Mac actually useful for this nowadays? AFAIK game servers only run on x86 Windows or Linux.
>>108328883i run my minecraft server off a 50 dollar android walmart phone
>>108328912Minecraft is a Java game, though, that's cheating. Any device that can run a JVM can run that.Terraria can only run on Apple silicon through Rosetta 2, I imagine the performance isn't great on that. Meanwhile Satisfactory and Palworld only have server executables for Windows and Linux. For game hosting it seems like you'd be better off re-using an old Intel PC or getting one of those Chinese mini PCs with a Ryzen chip.

>>108328315>m5 mini arriving in 2 months, with 512gb base (so actually usable)>buy m4 insteadanon cmon
>>108328315ngl, I love the form factor. I wish one came with the power of a 3060 12gb, r5 3600, 128GB RAM and several expansion slots for drives. At this point I'd rather have plug and play, hotswappable nvme drives in the form of floppy disks and keep them next to the thing. 2TB per nvme floppy card will suffice for now.

>>108328968I fear this year they'll roll out a Mac Mini with an iPhone CPU and 8GB RAM priced $100 lower than the M4 launch price, but with the M5 priced $100 above.

Inshallah M5 Mac Mini soon
>>108328315Youtube, torrent, minecraft server, Retroarch and best of all, if I'm lazy, I can use my phone from my mac.
>>108328315neck youself with it
i like my mac mini m4. it's become my daily driver...which is a bit of a shame because my windows desktop has a few HDDs and SDDs installed for file storage...I need to quit being lazy and start moving stuff over and storing it better. It's seamless with my iphone and that's nice. And a lot of dev environments install a lot more painlessly since it's unix based.
>>108335188feel like im one of the few who bought it to use it for what it is and not more AI shit. Tech twitter is fucking retarded. Mostly theo and garry tan.
>>108342074They will probably make a Mac Mini Neo for the $50 cheaper than the m4 with an iPhone chip and 8gb of Ram and only sell the pros if you want 16GB from here on out.
>>108328315Why the fuck they're not releasing M5 miniFuck this gay company
>>108342984rip.Enjoy the m4
I use mine as a NAS / Jellyfin server / homelab and Moonlight client for my bedroom. I'm fully aware it's overkill, but $479 is a good value if you're in the Apple ecosystem. I prefer over a cheap Chinese mini-PC, I do enough fiddling with Linux at work.

>>108328879can't. M4 can't boot linux.some slow boards were hosted on m1 mac minis, m1 can boot linux.Sure, in a couple years linux, at least enough for a server, will work on m4, but likely in the future it will be impossible to get linux working on newer macs. When they stop getting mac os updates they become ewaste.
>>108328315When you open your door you can put the mac mini on the ground to hold the door open. It has rubber feet especially made to increase friction, making it able to hold the heaviest of doors.
