I use alacritty. It just happens to do most of what I want from a terminal emulator. The only annoying thing is no scrollbars.

when i am programming in emacs i will use eat for convenience. for normal desktop usage i have been using foot because i use gnome. in the past i used urxvt, but for wayland there is no point in using it. foot is not without its issues, it has some strange bugs, does not use gnomes csd, and cannot be extended like urxvt. any gpu accelerated terminal is a no go for me.

its xfce4 for me. its the only terminal that does everything i want without compromise. iv tried every terminal listed on the arch wiki and each one does something fucky or doesnt do something else just right.the big one off the top of my head is persistent titles. most of them automatically change the title of the window to the cwd.
kitty, just works, font rendering done right, has everything i ever need, good protocols
Konsole, the default in fedora kde. Works for me.

>>108340635There's no alternative to kitty for ssh-heavy workflows. Having one keybind for opening a new tab or pane on the local machine and another one for opening it on the remote machine in the same directory is a killer feature. Wezterm's ssh integration is nowhere near that smooth, and it also lacks the dwm-style pane layouts that are way better than h/v splits.
