13.6" or 15.3" laptop? Please vote: https://strawpoll.com/e6Z2AbkJ5gN
1. I'm buying a laptop with intention to use it for programming at home and for all computing needs outside the home, which usually involve programming, web browsing and using web apps, nothing more.
2. At home, in general, I would use my desktop PC instead of a laptop for everything that isn't programming.
3. To be completely honest, despite the intentions, it is rare for me to need to bring my laptop outside my home, it stays at my desk pretty much all the time, I don't really need anything my phone can't do almost every time I'm outside of my home.
4. I somewhat prefer not to use an external monitor + keyboard + mouse combo because I don't want to be tied to a desk, but I'm willing to do it anyway because it's probably more comfortable in the long run.
5. I rarely open windows side-by-side, I prefer to maximize/full-screen things. If I don't, I still usually only have one "relevant" window shown on the display at a time, to which I pay all the attention.
6. Assume that neither the 13.6", nor the 15.3" have a numpad, if that matters.
So what do I choose? A 13.6" or 15.3" laptop?

i think 13-14 is the perfect laptop size after using one i would never buy the big ones

this
I have used 17'' and 15'' before and they are just too big, my T14 feels just right.

Apple recommends 15" if you select that you have enough money to afford it. Do not select "Coding, computing" in the "Work" section no matter what.

>15"
Was that 15.6"?
>>
>>108339215
The answer is 16"
>>
>>108339215
14" is the perfect laptop size, so 13.6" is closer to that

not him, but yes

it's been a while since I did the math but I think going for the pro was worth it for for the ports, screen, active cooling (occasionally useful). Faster memory can be nice too

I prefer smaller laptops but that's because it's not my primary machine and it sounds the same for you

the pro also has a higher rated battery life, by a significant margin

14" chads RISE UP

You should choose based on the bag you are using. In terms of actually using it, bigger screen is always better. In terms of portability, smaller is better. But you should really choose the largest screen that will fit into your typical bag of choice. Many of them will not fit 15", almost none fit 17". Especially if you like your current backpack, consider the laptop sleeve size of it.

I got the 13 inch macbook air because it’s light as fuck and I can use it anywhere without stress. I previously had a 16 inch macbook pro which felt way too unruly and was essentially a movable desktop

What do you mean?
>>
>>108339215
probably the best use case for a small laptop is “I want to be able to use it on a plane”
t. likes his 16"
>>
16" 16:10 pretty much equals 15.3" 16:9
>>
>>108344616
it's been 3 months and you still haven't picked a laptop like bruh.
>>
>>108339215
get the smaller screen. laptops should be light and portable. and you got a desktop at home anyway, why lug around a 15in brick.
>>
>>108344816
That's because I don't actually have the money to buy it, so I don't feel the pressure to decide on this question, I'm just saving up right now
>>
>>108339215
Always get the smaller one. Bulky laptops are exhaustive

I got a 14" and I think it's the perfect size, I never really owned a laptop and my desktop has 27" monitors. But I fell in love with stinkpads and 14" is great.
>>
>>108339215
What laptops are on this image anyway
>>

I use a 43" 4k tv, a 17.3" workstation laptop and a 14" basic laptop. 14" is in fact too small for a lot of uis in 1080p.
>>
>>108345109
But aren't 15.3" laptops not that heavy?
>>
I'm partial to 15.3". Better for when you're using another monitor and don't want a weird size difference.
