Garmin left casio in the dust.
>young normies all wearing Casio f91w, 158 and 168s now>only out of touch uncs wearing incel smart watchesWhat happened?
>>108343628>Keeps the time for years with relative accuracy, without depending on the internet.>More than 7 years with a single battery.>Small and light.>Stopwatch.>Alarm.>Optional hourly chime.>Historical value and legacy.>Cheap to replace.>Can be used as a detonator.
>>108343939>What happened?smart anything is just added complexity to my lifeI don't want to install an app to control my light bulbs etc.when I got into running I started looking into smart watches and I got anxious thinking about yet another device I would need to charge every night, yet another app that would monitor something in my life and notify me at random timesso I got a casio. the battery lasts forever. all I need is to measure the time it takes me to run a known track. if I want to roam around, I keep mental note of where I've been and measure it roughly in google maps just to get a feel for how fast I ran. I don't have another device running my lifeplus it looks cool
>>108346192This is bloat. Just give me an nh38

>>108345266Plus some of the more premium ones have solar cells and atomic timekeeping, letting it run indefinitely without charging or synchronizing. I got one 6 months ago and I haven't had to adjust it since.
>>108346258Unless you don't carry a smartphone, wearing watch is bloat.
>>108346515>t. you are poor
>>108346515Watch is better than pocketwatch pocketwatch is obsolete.
>>108343628retard tech>>108346192An actual watchAll watches are scams. This shit should would be a third of the price if the US didn't fuck kids and worship Satan.
>>108347752It's simple. Go to japan and buy watches and jeans without the markup
>>108346296My garmin only needs to be charged once a week. More expensive models can last a month.
>>108345266spbp. Still unbeaten for all the years since this was posted first
>>108346192Just get a cheap garmin, it can measure both pace and heart rate so perfect for runners who are into building stamina. I only need to charge mine maybe once every two weeks. It drains battery relative quickly only when GPS is enabled.
>>108346192If you're worried about privacy (I am) you could look into GadgetBridge and get a watch that's well supported by them. There's quite a few that last a week or longer, depending on use. Also, alternatively for running you could track time + track with your phone with an app like OpenTracks.Or don't do any of that and keep doing what you're doing. Gathering all this additional info can be interesting but in the end often is indeed just added complexity for no added value.
I just want>MIP display>solar charging>gadgetbridge compatible>not humongous tacticool "rugged" shell>not like $500 or some shitGarmin has the first three but fails badly on the last two. Fuck it I could even overlook the price, if its more normal-looking models had MIP displays and solar, but nope as far as I can tell this is only on its rugged outdoor hiking tacticool watches. My wrists are on the small side of average, I'm a city slicker who doesn't hike, I don't want to wear a humongous brick reeeeeeee.
>>108350777>not like $500so you're poor>solar chargingand retarded>not humongous tacticool "rugged" shelland limp wristedgot it
>>108346192Allo
>>108343628I’ve actually been looking at getting a Garmin Solar recently.I already have 2 automatics, 1 omega seamaster and 1 Phoibos wave master. For me the Garmin Solar seems to hit every green button I need it to>doesn’t require battery >charges by simply wearing it >keeps local and international time>altimeter >barometer>compass>gps>ballistics calculator >timer Etc etc etcI will always carry my Omega with me whenever I go for trips or go on leave. But I need something that is reliable, affordable, and I absolutely need a; compass function, altimeter, time, ballistics calculator, and gps. And the fact that I can all that in a single watch is mind boggling. Not to mention it saves me from having to carry batteries, an anemometer, fortrex, altimeter, compass (I still carry a small sunnto) etc.
>>108346296how do you keep in optimal heart rate?
>>108352910lucky you for being able to use solarat my latitude it's basically useless
>>108352910you're still have to charge it, the solar does fuck all if you use GPSthe battery lasts like a month on the models with a MIP screen if you DON'T use GPS, but way less if you do(particularly if you're retarded and use it 24/7 instead of when actually moving).
>>108352910First, I don't think you actually need any of that shit, and even if you did, it would be stupid to rely on a single device for all of them, especially one strapped to your wrist that you could easily slip and smash on a rock.
>>108353013 just don't care about itthough there is a simple test: could you carry a light conversation? if not, you're in the anaerobic range
>>108343628>watch you have to charge every dayPeople have easy lives, don't they, if they have time and patience for all that bullshit...
casio tough solar watches with bluetooth smart link is my goto
>>108343628I only needed device that can replace standalone gps unit I have to use for reasons and a watch in to a single thinggarmin simply just werks
>>108343628>ctrl+f suunto>phrase not foundperkele.
>>108343628I already hate having to charge my phone every 2 days. Imagine having to worry about charging my watch too. No way nigga. I bought a Casio solar and that's it.
Got one of their dive computer models for 350€ and it's unbeatable at this price.Battery lasts for 3 weeks, has all of the instinc product line features, dives to 100m and even supports trimix, so it can be a good backup to a more serious computer if you get into deco diving
>>108343628>>108343939only uncs that enjoy slops use smartwatchesI can use my g-shock watch as a throwing weapon
