>cant fathom of any solution other than "ask the LLM"
you type of people seriously worry me.
>>
Not in my opinion. It's just going to aggregate what it has online and make a decision.
I'd rather it just do the listing part and I do the deciding part. Maybe.
>>
It'll pick whatever choice is mentioned the most online, so arch and ubuntu I would imagine.
>>
>>108344263
no. use it to inform and then decide. don’t let it decide.

why doesnt he just install debian?
>>
>>108344263
no, its heavily biased towards older suggestions, nobody suggests popos anymore
>>108348628
because thats retarded on the desktop

I use debian on both my laptop and desktop. It's great on both.

alright, retard

This. Debian Stable on every machine: laptop, desktop, server. Even works great on my gaming machine (Steam manages all the runtimes so the underlying distro doesn't matter too much)

I'm guessing you're new, but you dont have to sign your posts here. Or better yet go back to plebbit.

Is putting a sharp, long metal object between and slightly above your eyes oriented in such a way that if we drew a line from it to the end of your scull, its end would be near 1/4 to 1/2 of your scull (if we start from the from to the back), and then hitting that object with a hammer with various degrees of force so it pierces the scull and reaches the frontal lobe the best way to increase your intelligence? Spoiler, our questions have a common answer.

>>108344263
bruh I chose my RELIGION through an LLM. I've been a philosophical taoist all my life turns out.
>>
Yes, do as I say!
>>
>>108344263
yes for grok
>>
what is it with middle aged men and their absolutely no shame public use of AI in fucking everything?
>>
>>108344263
I don't know why people are so obsessed with distro choice, as if one distro would be completely unusable on a desktop but another would magically deliver significantly better gaming performance.

If you're sincere and not just the LTT employee spam advertising, no LLMs have to be trained for long periods of time to the point their internal training data is out of date by time the model has been trained to a usable state and will give you outdated information. The LLMs also are going to have all those rightfully identified useless listicles in their training data further skewing them towards giving you bad info.
The approach Linus' adopted zoomer gooner nephew and Luke took are much more sensible, looking at what people actually use on forums, or using something that's based on something you are already familiar with.
The biggest hurdle for dipping your toes into Linux is accepting the fact you just have to make a choice, spending days researching to make the best choice the first time isn't useful you just need to try something and start learning then try other things if you don't like the first one. You don't learn to walk by never crawling.

Good job describing the differences between Poop!_OS and Cachyos.
>>
The argument that someone might use an LLM to pick a Linux distribution has some credibility to it; there's lots of distros out there, but really you only want a shortlist of options to pick from- and search engines these days are completely fucking useless, so it makes sense that a certain subset of individuals would ask a chatbot to just pick one for them.

What makes less sense is that this guy is a Linus Torvalds fanboy, and has met the man, and 100% knows he uses Fedora because he literally installed it for him on a new PC. So when the Tech Tips man passes over CachyOS because its a "flavour of the month" distro and that he wanted to pick something less-developmental, there is no excuse for choosing Pop over Fedora or basically anything else.

Grown men don't give a shit about terminally online teenagers screeching about AI just because it's the latest popular thing to get angry about, like Ukraine or KONY 2012 were before this. Soon enough you retards will move on to the next popular outrage, like always.
