Ordered my M5 Max macbook with 64gb ram/4tb storage
Decluttered all the cables from my desk and packed away my clunky loud hot fire hazard gaming pc
Minimized from a dozen cables to just two
No more Microsoft or worrying about the future of pc components or which Linux distro is the least shit
Just stress free easy life or if my CPU or GPU or PSU are going to spontaneously combust
A setup that just works
I have finally matured technologically

See you on the other side bros

I agree with a lot of shit you are saying, I literally hate "traditional" PC's now. GPU's are a relic from the past. I just want x86 to die already, I'm glad AMD and Nvidia don't produce ugly, hot, loud and power hungry GPUs for consoomers anymore.

But sadly you mentioned crapple. I will follow your footsteps. I'm just hoping that Snapdragon will be okay for Linux.

They don't? What do you mean? Boxy, large GPUs are still undisputed for gaming and heavy workloads.

AMD and Nvidia didn't announce new GPUs, it's just not worth it. Le gayming market is piss small. $68 billion in quarterly sales and "only" $3.7 billion, or just over 5% of total income, came from the gaming market.

The current trend is, that they belong in huge AI data centers or in company workstation setups. Game streaming is getting more and more popular, trust me I hate this, but look at it, even Sony went the renting/streaming route. I think ultra high end GPUs were always an enthusiast thing, if you actually look at the most popular GPU's on Steam... it's always the 60 series from Ngreedia. And you know that Game Devs are targeting the base Ps5 and Switch/2, so no.. you don't need a 5090 to play your shit.

This will probably be my last PC. I have a 4080 and a 7800x3d and I don't even want fat PCs anymore, maby just for local AI shit.

If mobile laptops continue getting better and better in their built in GPUs, I can honestly see the industry shifting to more mobile focused gaming.

The M series CPUs actually have good GPUs specs, now if only Apple could work with game developers or make their own comparability layer.

Even AMD AI and Intel Core Ultra aren’t that bad CPU wise.

it's been so long that I don't even remember what it's like to use a regular consumer computer. I can't fucking wait to move to macOS at some point in the future

Just got an another Air. Should be here tomorrow.Almost got a M5 Pro, but I already have PCs. Realized I like the chill Mac experience for less demanding shit.

Exactly, I mean even phones can emulate fucking Switch games. I'm not even mad if the world is moving to ARM and portable devices. I'd love a low watt, low heat and quiet Macbook, but I don't really like Apple. Most people have such powerful devices in their pocket and all they use it for is to call people, social media and payment + watching goy slop.

As you said, they just have to focus on compatibility layers, but afaik they only want real ports, to sell them on the AppStore.

As stupid as this OP is, my respect for mac computers has grown immensely over the years. I feel more comfortable using an iPhone then an android, and while I have an Intel laptop and desktop, I respect my wife’s MacBook work computer, an excellent piece of technology.

How is he stupid? He might not game at all so Mac would work fine for him.
