I'm one of the world's leading expert on home servers, self-hosting, and digital sovereignty. The concept I work with: everyone has a machine. That machine goes out and gets what counts as the internet for you, then you log into that machine and experience the internet through it, and through it alone. You don't connect to a public device; you connect to your private device, and your private device is tuned into a bunch of public things. Your main public-private machine doesn't move. But you do. Ask me anything.
>>
does it have stuffs like openphone or sim card support?

I'm not sure if you're describing digital cuckoldry or just having an RSS feed reader.

You are browsing a literal file hierarchy stored in a postgres database right now, on someone else's computer. It could be on a computer you own. For very little cost

a server is not a modem. a modem gets internet from a provider

I'm not sure how pre-downloading 4chan pages on my server benefits me compared to just opening it on my web browser VM. I cannot post on those locally saved copies and they don't update with new posts as they come in which only serves to rob me of the interactive use of the site.

Use case?

The internet should be comprised of irc chat, some other public chat domains, such as chans, and home servers. The rest is bloat

let's start with what do you intend to do with your homelab. Hardware fits purpose. https://arpaservers.com/hardware/

offline lan with cabled CCTV and relays, alarm and sentry turrets with UPS, gneerator, solar and turbine. Seperate air and ground drone network. I have the internet, offlined. You are distracting people from getting their shit and building their offline lans

Ring small 20 million turnovers in the area and ask to speak to the IT manager, offer cash for old servers switches etc minus drives

Did the same with an Imgur image scraper a whole back, that one was much more annoying to put together because I didn't have Claude code to do 99% of the work for me

now theres like a dozen astrix there. you cannot update your browser. or any other software. surrounding this. if file extensions change. . the list goes on.
>>
>>108351061
you can fork and maintain updates entirely yourself. it's designed with that in mind. you shouldn't trust me. don't. run your updates.

good

hard drive dock and some good drives is what you need. keep it simple. let everyone in on the fun. but let the power users do what power users do best. The best tab and the best service for this platform hasn't been made yet. are you the one who is going to build it?
>>
>>108351068
Yeasah I get all that anon, fuck it I wish you luck but I have all my shit in place already and I love it. I'm really happy with it. Neither is your claim to go out and get people the internetvalie, hunting down media or patches etc you want is not a process that can be automated . It takes a few years to make a solid private internet offlined. It's more than just MP3, MP4s, PDFs and epubs, its dev enviroment's libraries, games, emulators, patches, hardware drivers and firmware, manuals, disk images and operating systems and components. I assume this thing you are showing me was AI generated.

You're back online again. My stuff is offline anon, it's never connecting to the internet again, ever.

clearly you're too stupid to figure out how to do a raid yourself. if you're asking the maintainer of your fucking home server to do it for you

NTA, but I can see some benefit in a digital detox kind of way. Fuck replying to 4chinz and contribooting to the discussion, or even reading real time. Make it more like boomer newspapers that you open over breakfast, and then go on with your day without worrying about the red menace.

so you just have it as a bod you access on the network? networks share over samba? spit it out big guy
>>
>>108351156
Offline LANs are great because all security goes along with all the associated hassles and bugs. Machines can just boot into automatic admin logons, you don;t need to update them, just make your peak performance image and diver set and and you are done. You can run old stuff and all the libraries and just kick back and enjoy it and not give a fuck.
>>
>>108351163

Because everyone's already on CGNAT you are right, as long as the ISP doesn't start sending these machines 'dirt packets' they genuinely are safe to go 'full admin mode on' which i would never advise outright but still. CGNAT is a genuine boon to the mission, and with tailscale the layer of obfuscation isn't an issue. Can vpn to one's homeserver without issue with native tailscale support in the webGUI
