Has the Poop! OS money run out?
>>108349764They dropped COSMIC... And it landed... like a turd in an outhouse.
>>108349764mr. do as i say did a final blow
>>108349791new desktops take a version or two to become useful. the usual tards who get overly excited about this stuff are busy jerking it to hyperland still.
They all got jobs and started using GNOME.
Not a "shill", but I am a fan of COSMIC and I wish for its success. However, I'm waiting for it to get more stable and iron out the kinks first before daily driving it.
>>108349764Imagine being a grown adult and telling people you use Pop OS! I couldn't even say it with a straight face.
>>108349764They should really rebrand to Cosmic OS instead of PoopJeet OS!
>>108349764everything in the cosmic suite is just a bad copy of something else, from their file manager to their terminal emulator to their desktop environment. why would i use the sloppy rust clone over the original? nobody hates gnome because it wasnt made from the ground up for wayland they hate it because it sucks
my machine just updatedsomething with the install fucked up, and i was getting kernel panics on boot... funit was easy enough to reinstall (thank god for recovery partitions), but that was annoyingnot sure how i feel about it yet. it's like a cross between windows and a phone. that's probably intentionalit's slow as shit, lots of features don't work, the graphics stutter, and it's all around just generally unusablebut it looks nice!and the flathub thing is kind of cute. it's like an app store on your computeri barely use my computer these days, so i don't really care, but i can imagine if this was my daily driver, i'd be pretty frustrated by thishopefully it gets better within the next couple of versions
>>108349764Its wild they actually put this in their main LTS release. No serious company would call this stable worthy software, but they just take a beta quality product and release it as stable with an enormous amount of (known) bugs. Unbelievable.
>>108349764I'm using it. It mostly just werks.
>>108349764using it daily for 7 months. ain't switching, footie.
>>108349764>wow cool DE!yeah so now we need to add like a thousand new features and fix ten thousand bugs to actually compete with GNOME and KDE.>ok whatever good luck lol
>>108351458yeah, they should have waited for 2ish more years. there's still no remote desktop protocol implemented on it, so people who relied on it, got fucked really bad with the update.
>>108349764Installed it with proxmox as a vm and use gpu passthrough on a ryzen 4650ge. so far no issues
>>108352060I patched mine using someone's fork of rdp and managed to get deskflow working to share my mouse/keyboard and run moonlight
>>108350595>t.
>>108349764It's still better than GNOME, lol.Which really tells you just hot garbage those tablet UI DEs are.
>>108349764We are busy using our COSMIC desktop environment. Why would I go to /g/ to complain about problems I am not having with my DE? You have so much brainrot you are treating desktop environments like sports teams. No one cares but youAlso I'm not sure what other distros support COSMIC right now. Everyone has pretty much settled on GNOME/KDE, so not a lot of users to talk about it
>>108350595Not being able to say "pop oh ess" to your coworkers is a diabolical level of insecurity.
