In recent months the mods seem to have either given up or have joined in because pretty much every reasonably active thread has a couple of people in it who find some way to connect the topic to "the administration" (for some reason they seem to be scared to invoke Trump's name, like he's Candyman or Beetlejuice) to nazis or authoritarianism. What's getting reddit about it is that up and down votes are used to ensure those comments rise while those telling them to knock it off with the nazi comparisons get gray texted on the path to oblivion.
