unsolicited opinion: computers are easy. linux is easy. we wear gigabytes of ram and dualcore cpus on our wrists now. but through the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, computers held this mystic enigma in most normies. it is this mysticism which keeps people afraid and even enamoured with computers. it is also this mysticism that causes companies and video channels like “tech tips” to even exist. why would you need tech tips if you understood how computers work? there’s no youtube channel called “pissing and shitting tips”, everyone knows how to do that. subconsciously or not, linus has a vested interest in maintaining the mysticism that surrounds computers. it’s an extremely easy thing to install linux on a computer. technically easier than windows as there’s no registration. and partly why he hates apple computers so much, as they’re so easy to use, normies have no need for a talking head on youtube to give them Technology Tips (TM) on sending an imessage. linus is either an idiot or pretending to be an idiot. it is in his interest to maintain the idiocy surrounding computers
