What are the implications of an ISP level CGNAT becoming ubiquitous and what does it mean for the future of P2P and torrenting?

I noticed a while back that my ISP started sneakily using a CGNAT without warning me. Explained all the torrenting problems with connectivity to torrents with seeds I was (and still am) experiencing.

Try speaking to your ISP and ask them to disable it.

Worked for me in Australia, pretty sure all ISPs are legally required to disable it if requested.

My ISP is Comcast which means many negative things but one of the few positive is the metric boatload of IPv4 addresses they have. My point is CGNAT sounds more like a you problem and not a me problem.

What if everyone at your ISP is a purposefully obtuse retard who doesn't know or pretends not to know what the fuck a router is, let alone a CGNAT, and there's no ipv6? Worse yet, imagine every single ISP in your country is like that. How are you supposed to fight this bullshit?

You could buy some cheap Linux VPS and remote port forward with for example with ssh. Possible solution to carrier-grade network address translation
