Self-hosted gitea
You don’t need more, and could probably get by with even less
>>
>>108360801
I'm more amazed the browser allows that, like it's going, yes, I am going to remember every single character you have ever typed into this field and then display it in a list for you.

Is there a genuine reason for web browsers to allow autocomplete for single characters?
>>
>>108360801
Absolutely retarded vibecoded bs
>>
here you go SlopHub, fixed it for you:
autocomplete="off"
>>
>>108361088
it's just a regular form with single character input elements, those retards just didn't turn off autocomplete in the html form.
>>
>>108361154
I know, but should the browser not special-case that? What is the reason for the browser allowing autocomplete with only single characters?

Autocomplete is done by the browser, it just remember the previous submitted characters.
You can disable autocomplete in your browser settings.

>>108361069
>could probably get by with even less
Yes, Forgejo is right there, and unlike Gitea, it's actually libre software.

>>108361160
You clearly haven't used obscure old dashboard sites with forms.

>You clearly haven't used obscure old dashboard sites with forms.
True, I can imagine there is probably some really broken website that depends on this single-character state being stored in the browser for "reasons".
>>
>>108361173
They can just fork:
https://github.com/chrislgarry/Apollo-11
>>
>>108361182
>Yes, Forgejo is right there, and unlike Gitea, it's actually libre software.
Gitea is literally MIT, which is a lot better license. It also runs on windows, which forgejo doesn't because...it just doesn't ok
>>
>>108361271
Nobody is running servers on Windows. It's not the 90s anymore. Go install Linux, it's literally an app in the Windows store.
>>
>>108361316
The windows part doesn't matter too much but it's good to be able to test things.
GPL is still strictly worse, they literally closed down what was originally actually free software because they started their own saas platform.
>>
>>108360919
This. I can’t get over the terrible (((name))).
>>
>>108361356
That's not what the GPL does at all though. Troons have been lying to you. The GPL is free with restrictions that enforce its freedom. Without those restrictions you can take MIT licensed Gitea and make your own proprietary SASS platform and then never contribute anything back.
>>
>>108361182
playboy that's not how it works
it's set in code also first and foremost

you two are aware that "berg" means mountain in German? With codeberg being a German organization, the name has nothing to do with jews. You should take some days off from /pol/, maybe then your rampant schizophrenia will heal.

Except the issue is the retard using the first object that fits as a textbox like an llm, instead of trying to find all options and picking what would be best for the situation.

MS implemented rate limiting on search and a login requirement to search code within 48 hours of takeover. No one cared apparently

their site cannot be accessed without an account if you randomize your UA, fuck them. You know that 2 things can be true at the same time?
A user can disable autocomplete at the browser level and a developer can disable autocomplete at the input level.
If vibecoders bother you that much then turn it off in your browser.

Which is exactly what Forgejo ended up doing.
Restricting this is not freedom. Freedom is doing whatever you want. I like open source because of the freedom for developers.
If you expect shit in return, it's not free.

>>
>>108364238
I can't tell if this is bagging on corporate for ripping off open source, or bagging on open source for ripping off corporate.
I read a little further and it's probably the former, but they may not really just how closely they're copying the rhetoric around Linux being copied from others.
Even so, good site.
>>
>>108363305
why are you defending github dev incompetence? you one of those jeets
>>

How is this defending? I just said that there are solutions that can mitigate this problem that you can do yourself.
To solve the jeets problem is simple, stop them from flooding into the country and kick the ones who are already here out, too bad you need politicians with a spine.

Except they didn't because the code is public. What you want to allow is Amazon proprietary forks of Forejo or Azure Forejo, or Google Forejo that would run modified versions of it and contribute nothing back.
You are literally arguing in favour of sucking off billionaires instead of the commons.
>>
>>108367213
>the code is public
Yet you can't use it for your own programs.
Foregjo is not going to contribute back to Gitea, and you can't make your own Forgejo version. Multiple options and forks is good for users. GPL is hostile to devs. The people who praise GPL are consoomers who never make anything worthwhile of their own and just want their programs to be open source.

Redis literally changed their original permissive license to some closed down "copyleft" garbage, then everybody else (i.e. the billion dollar corporations you listed) banded together and created a permissive fork that overtook Redis and is free and in development to this day. MIT has won by 2k26.
>>
>>108367269
>Yet you can't use it for your own programs.
Ecept you CAN. You just have to make your own programs GPL.
>>
>>108367350
Also this:

>Redis literally changed their original permissive license to some closed down "copyleft" garbage, then everybody else (i.e. the billion dollar corporations you listed) banded together and created a permissive fork that overtook Redis and is free and in development to this day. MIT has won by 2k26.
Is a different issue.

The MIT or GPL, etc, doesn't prevent the original company that wrote all of the code from re-licensing it a shitter license.
>>
>>108367350
>just give your rights away because I told you to bruh lmao
Nah, fuck off, freetard. I'll never release a single line of GPL code. I'll release it as actual free software only if I personally want to.
>>108367359
>The MIT or GPL, etc, doesn't prevent the original company that wrote all of the code from re-licensing it a shitter license.
If it's MIT, anyone can fork it and keep it free. If it's GPL originally, it will never be fully free.
>>
>>108367567
So you just want to give blowjobs in the glory hole to your billionaire mates then, got it.

If it's GPL then it will stay GPL for life.
