Your mom's gaping asshole? Overrated imo.

CatchyOS is sponsored by Cloudflare.

Daily driver for 6 months now. No complaints.

As someone with very new hardware, having a kernel manager built in was very nice so I could switch to the rc kernel to make my shit work.

Hello again sister
>>

i'm out of the loop. Why is this bad?
>>
>>108363199
because the developers and maintainers should starve to death before receiving money from the company serving half of the internet's dns and cdn or something
>>
Just use fucking vanilla Arch
>>
>>108362712
Not sure yet, I have issues with kernel drivers, especially if they are not installed yet and I have to search for them.
Like displaylink, if I want to use a docking station at work.
But this is linux in general.
>>
>>108362712
>is it as good as they say?
I used it for a bit during a distro-hop weekend. It was pretty nice.

>>108363320 what does it do differently from vanilla?

Ok, alright, let's see...

of course...

>another os built by 5 linux hobbyists contributors instead of ubuntu, fedora, or pop os with hundreds of contributors and commercial support to fix bugs

No thank. I'll stick with linux distros that people can actually maintain instead of one maintained by a handful of people.

I really wish people would stop fracturing the Linux community and contribute to an OS with mainstream support. No commercial or corporate entity will ever adopt cachyos.
>>
>>108364538
>That "people" (if Chinese hackers are to be considered "people" in this context) actually use.
I've seen more people recommend using Tails/QubesOS (privacy-end), Mint (for actual use), Kali Linux (for programming/hacking shit) and Arc (for customizable shit.) What you named were the compromised intelligence agent control grid Linux distrOS. The reason Linux needs to be "fractured" is so that there's not a single company ENSHITTIFYING IT ALL for the rest of the people who actually want to use it for its features rather than putting all useless junk on your shit; Like Apple and Microsoft: Whilst demanding an arm and a leg for "basic functionality" and "external accessories" like chargers or "charge per use AI that we forced to gather your personal data!" Type of shit. Fuck that nonsense anon; stop recommending shill-shit.
>>
>>108364538
This.
Maybe neets are unable to get this but in the real world "corpo" is king. If you can't meet commercial standards then you don't stand a chance.
That's why Ubuntu and RHEL are the most used distros in the world.
>>
>>108364746
>"Real World" = "Corpo"
lmao, oh my; who the fuck uses "real world" (work-life) as a gauge for their own personal experience and leisure (fun-time) activities than suckers for clout? Linux is DIY first; Corpo is an after-thought that tries to shove the gay cock-salad everywhere.
>>
>>108364538
It just works for me, I didn't even have to do anything to enable nvidia support or snapshots or install codecs to view videos
If Fedora has so many resources because it's corpo why can't it do those things?
>>

try it yourself, then you know

You're welcome. Ignore meme distros.

>>
>>108364776
I see why you're unemployed now, your communication skills are abysmal, holy fuck.
But trying to follow your gibberish, yes, Linux can be a DIY hobby, but it is also the most used OS in the world, especially in industry fields. And 99 % of people need their OS' to work and be functional.
Is because of people like you that Linux isn't more adopted by regular users and desktop environments.

>manually install drivers when theyre baked into the kernel
cant replicate
>>
>>108364988
Ok then I meant I have to modprobe them manually and later use systemd to keep them enabled.
>>
>>108364806
You answered yourself, because it's corpo, there's laws you have to follow.
>why can't it do those things?
it literally can, it's just a couple command lines away...
cachy and other distros do those command lines at the install. But Fedora, OpenSUSE, hell even Debian iirc, don't include codecs ootb because they have literal commercial clients; a.k.a they do business, and businesses can't risk legal backlash by including proprietary additions. It is fucking bullshit, but that's how stuff works.
>>
>>108364925
Do the research but basically it was funded by jews.
>>
>>108364999
how awful for you
>>
>>108365108
>Jews want customers to have right to repair and make a good product designed for longevity and customization over the practices of other laptop manufacturers who enshittify as much as possible
and this is supposed to be bad?
>>
>>108365123
Thanks for understanding, anon. I feel better now
>>
>>108365028
But why should I specifically seek out big corpo distros if being corpo just means they can't do useful things.
It's not just a matter of one time install either because something like nvidia being an awkward addon will cause annoyance with every kernel update. And none of that explains why they use btrfs without an oob snapshot solution, and no you can't easily add that after the fact with packages.
>>
>>108365108
Jews fund everything that isn't Amish people, what's your point?
>>
>>108362781
they/them
>>
>>108362712
It feels super responsive on my cheap laptop, so much so that I'm very tempted to try it on my main desktop but Mint is so incredibly comfy I just don't really care.
I think it can be installed on a cracked PS4 so I might try that.
>>
>>108362712
Just installed this on my side laptop. Be honest with me bros, is it jewish?
I was thinking on installing it on my main machine too...
>>
Yeah, if you are a faggot who needs to hop to the distro of the week to seem cool
>>
>>108367591
>distro of the week
Damn I'm dumb, I've been using it for a year
>>
>>108362712
nah but it's pretty gud
>>
>>108366384
Heres a little trick for you Anon, set up
Distrobox with an Arch container in it, then follow the instructions on here https://wiki.cachyos.org/features/optimized_repos/ and you can have all the optimized software (but not the kernel) on your Mint install and see if it makes enough of a difference to move over on your system. Distrobox will share your home directory inside the container so the programs will use all your configurations unlike a live usb and containers don't lose any performance like a VM so you get an accurate experience to running it native.
>>
>>108362712
personally I don't think it's that good. It's definitely not user friendly enough to recommend to a noob, and it comes with weird apps preinstalled that feel like bloat. You're better off getting something more vanilla and maybe adding the cachyos kernel.
>>
>>108362712
Nah, it's buggy as fuck. just use any of the fedora spins, or if you really want a handholding arch distro use endeavour os because it's as vanilla as possible.
>>
>>108368659
>use endeavour os
hot garbage
>>
>>108362712
It's like Manjaro but if it was made by non-retards, for all that's worth.
>>108365108
A beggar getting a couple of cents thrown into his begging bowl by a Jew doesn't make him a (((beggar))).

It's arch with shitty defaults and AUR shit in their main repo. They just take "popular" AUR stuff, recompile it with x86_64v4 flag and put it in their repo alongside official packages. They do exactly zero quality control and the braindead maintainers don't understand why it's an issue. The system lasts a few months before breaking down and becoming unusable in a way that properly maintained arch doesn't even after years. It goes without saying that it's also a big security oversight. You can look up benchmarks and in gaymes the difference between it and regular distros is basically nonexistent. It doesn't take a genius to realize that all the gaming distros and meme kernels are snake oil, with any minor improvements being negated by many regressions that don't happen in upstream.

If you want arch, use arch. If you want a just werks Windows refugee distro use Fedora (KDE).
