Just switched from Mac to Linux for the first time. Picked up a copy of Ubuntu. Other than my sound not working, everything has been really nice.

>>108365262usecase for ai slop of linux sebastian?
>>108365262I know this is the biggest fucking cliche you can hear but: If Ubuntu didn't work 100 % out of the box, try Fedora. Why? because if your hardware doesn't work on Fedora then you're pretty much out of luck.Ubuntu and Fedora are the only two distros worth a damn. So if you're having problems with them then Linux is not for your setup.
>>108365262same but I went with Void cause the name sounded cool
>>108365262I can help your sound get working
>>108365262>Ubuntu>everything has been really nicemy condolences on your mom dropping you on your head as a baby
>>108366232I tried fedora xfce first and open mw complete overhaul didn't work so I went to debian xfce which didn't work with open mw so I went to xubuntu and it worked. None of them had any hardware compatibility issues at all everything just worked. But every laptop should run morrowind.
imagine using an operating system named fedoracouldn't look at myself in the mirror anymore

people with look at a newbie picking the distro with the single best hardware support and being satisfied with his experience and still get mad. probably an arch or fedora userhave fun OP
>>108366177I've been staring at it for a few minutes now and it's getting funnier by the moment.>he's plugging it in upright>nonsensical motherboard >it's also a power mac G5 for some reason
>>108366232>Fedoradidn't know you posted here, Linus
Use Xubuntu/XFCE, You can easily rice it to look like snow leopard
>>108365262>My sound not workingEvery fucking debian based distro has given me constant sound issues. It's why I jumped to Arch.
>>108366546>distros with old kernel = single best hardware supportlol, clueless retards really be spouting nonsense
>>108367288What's the point of installing Linux just to make it look like macOS or Windows?
>>108365262I always had sound issues on Linux with my scarlet solo it would always say I had a stereo microphone but it is a mono XLR microphone and I had to mix it to mono which would make the sound around 6db lower which meant in all my apps I had to add 6db (if there was an option) and it was a pain.Arch Linux fixed this it fixed all my hardware issues right out the box.Arch with archinstall is the answer to everyone's problems besides people that need 100% stability.
