power struggle is a foundational principle of business. It always fucks everything up.
>>
As a vendor who has infiltrated many huge companies, it's all shit. They outsource everything to these bullshit services. They have to manage like 150 license per employee
Employees can't keep passwords straight and don't even know what the fuck they are logging into. They need another software app just to manage all their account credentials.
>roboforms
2FA is rendered useless by the sheer amount of accounts they are expected to manage. You can be standing next to them and have something text a login approval and they'll just accept it so they can get back to their actual job. Often this is the only way you can do your job as a vendor who doesn't have credentials flr anything you were hired to do. For companies that do require security training and qualification, 99% of it is irrelevant.
Anyway, I am certain that the goal for your exects is making deals with other execs and has little to do with actually getting the job done. I'm also convinced that cutting costs or being profitable is directly against whatever the corporate strategy is. I used to think business is about revenue and profit. Now I turn it's all just some kind of big scam.

don't bother cleaning up these decades old messes, it's thankless work, nobody cares, and they'll get mad at you for trying to fix it or pointing out how shitty it is

eventually some other snake oil salesman from another company will come along and shill your boss some more crapware that he'll demand be implemented and another halfassed shoehorning will be done in and yes they'll still be using those 2013 excel files for inventory, project and personnel management
