>/g/ makes a 19th albumTheme: Intelligent Drum And BassTitle: [Accepting suggestions]Deadline: 31st of March, 20:00 GMT>/g/ makes a 20th albumTheme: [Accepting suggestions]>Song submission rules/guidelinesUpload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album. You must include a screenshot of your DAW - this is to verify the track is not stolen or AI-generated.Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may also add a pseudonym to be included in the track metadata, but it must not be one you already use on music platforms.Songs that violate YouTube's policies won't be uploaded there, but they will still be added to the album.By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your song. Light-touch mastering is sometimes applied to improve the consistency between tracks.Use of AI is banned - This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is prohibited. >>108370210I shoulda bought a dm12 and a matrix brute back when I had a good job
so are yall going to submit some music or what?
i only have about 2 minutes but im out of ideas also i have no idea how to mix something with this much bass
hey so i'm a /mu/ tourist. i was in a thread last night talking to some anons about a horn section for my phil collins cover for my upcoming crabcore album. was looking for an anon with a sick horn vst to turn these midis into a .wav with DISRESPECTFUL levels of crank. 129 BPM, Key: Gmaj https://mega.nz/file/iyZXRIwY#DUUm8vI0iIhT4XLIUfCghjfVlkqdD0ayF9SwTosEuskhere's the reference trackhttps://youtu.be/H0o6kAixIqE
are posts with the word "b-u-m-p" softb& on this board?
>>108372606i already did. i'm trying to get some help with some midi horns. anybody ITT got a sick horn plugin?>>108372905
Anyone else experienced midi noise when connecting both the usb controller and usb audio interface at the same time? I tried usb hub and my usb cables have a filter on them but the audio interface still whines when I press keys, here is a recording amplified 50 dbshttps://voca.ro/1mUaYmLWW4WT
>>108373405Yes I got a 3-day ban for that
>>108373505wtf? who are the non-paid jannies on this shithole? can't be worse than the ladyboys that mod /mu/ or the jeets that mod /tv/
>>108372606Been messing around with some JE-8086 presets and a cut up drum loopNot inspired enough to work on it until we're closer to the deadlinehttps://vocaroo.com/1k5jUe6Sum9K
>>108372606yeh but not until you remove that garbage rule. Use your ears to sort AI slop.
>>108373771straight up.
hoping some frens can help me out with this. covering a phil collins tune for my next album, and i don't have any good horn plugins. hoping some anon with a brass vst can run my midi through and send me a .wav, you'll get full credit as "Horn Section"https://vocaroo.com/1jl8q0pUOd7T
this thread craps ass
>>108373910Why not just sample the actual horns from the album and run them through an Emulator-II or the like?
>>108374229cause it'd be the same amount of work or more as just running a midi file thru a good horn plugin. i've already got a really accurate midi file. i just don't know how to mix horns. they all come off sounding fake to me
>>108373771Ain't gonna happen, so no point in withholding submissions to get me to back down. Also I don't plan on tightening the rule again in the foreseeable future so it's not a slippery slope thing.
>>108374298you are not to decide, I'm going to run my own general the old school way and watcha gon do drugie?
>>108374298sure thing, jamboy
>>108373831I think you're too complacent and don't recognise the true ramifications of what generative AI means for online art communities - of which /dmp/ is one - as well as recorded music in general. We need to gatekeep and for that we need at least basic security; our ears will only take us so far. Remember when anons here thought a submission was AI? That was last year.
>>108374336it's cool man, a lotta tards live really kickass lives. my ex-wife was retarded.
>generate AI track>separate stems>load stems into DAW>break up and arrange clips>convert some to midi>take snapshot>profit
>>108374429You'd need some experience to know how to cover it up well, and at that point an anon would just write the damn track normally.
it's a stupid fucking rule and you know it, being a cunt won't keep this thread alive
>>108374479This isn't 2022 anymore I'm afraid. Also you must know that I'm making these threads not out of altruism but out of my own self-interest. Therefore I set the rules and if some anons disagree and leave, that's fine by me.
>>108374499highway express to dead thread and someone else making a new one where you are not welcome
>>108370210there should be a DAW where the tracking elements are invisible until you call them. Like it should just be the VSTs and you fucknig around with them in some empty canvas like Max MSP and then you can hit some hot key combo when you wnat to track and something will fade into view and you can organize it and do whatever but then it disappears again
>>108374585I think you're describing fruity loops
>>108372713ok heres what I got so faradvice on mixing please (especially bass and sub bass it sounds good on my headphones but boomy on my earbuds) or thoughts in general. imagine a fade out at 2m. i need to add pads and i think i made the melodies too busy but i am a guitar guy that got lost on his way to /gg/ and now I am here.https://voca.ro/1givgC8zSy7S
>>108374601maybe, but from the screenshots i see it still has too many tracking elements in the default state. i'd want to go more extreme. basically he problem is that all daws look like shit and make me want to make music less
>>108374585I've thought of something similar -- basically like a simple 4/8/whatever track recorder where the music is there, but you can't see it and you need to use your ears -- with the benefit of the data actually existing behind a curtain if you feel you want to edit it.
>>108374799I think you can customize your fl layout in almost any way. >If you wanna just see audio tracks >if you just wanna see midi>if you just wanna see automation I think it let's you do all that idk. Never used it much. I prefer "easy on the eyes" DAWs. They mostly all do the same shit these days, so I like the ones that are simple and intuitive. Garageband-tier if you will.
I just asked Claude to code my own midi keyboard with the pico and it works
>>108375234based
>>108374316>>108373771>>108374544>>108377357
So now that we've come to an understanding, get those submissions (and DAW screenshots) ready and let's make this the best /dmp/ year that /g/ has ever seen.
