Be careful! Paid shills are trying to promote the Chinese game "Crimson Desert".Be warned, the game has Denuevo, software known for destroying SSDs. Performance is an unknown quality, and it seems to struggle with AMD GPUs.Wait for official reviews that are relevant for your hardware, after actual buyers have had time to play the game and experience what issues the Denuvo Malware may present.

Does a matte coating for an OLED have inherently better scratch resistance than glossy ones? I've used lick-wetted tissue to wipe off food speckles off my monitor before only to notice later when the screen is off / pure black that it left a bunch of paper scraps, but those always come off easily and cleanly with a very slightly damp microfiber. Then on further inspection the resulting screen surface is still fine. I'd like to imagine if I got a glossy instead I would be seeing some small sections of perma damage at this point.

>>108381478You might just have to keep hounding them about it. It's surprising after all this time asus still has the worst customer service out there and yet they are still around. You're basically playing Russian roulette with them. You'll get a seemingly good product from them, but if it's broken and you can't return it to the vendor then you're sol. I tried to RMA my 970 from them, and I never heard a word from them. Never got a word out of them, though I only did it once.

I think I experienced artifacting for the first time just now. Played Rust and some red line kept appearing in the middle of the screen, I tabbed out and it hasnt happened again. not sure if it was rust's shitty game bugging or my card is dyingBought it 3 months ago via Amazon. prob dont have warranty im guessing9070 xt btw, shouldve just gone nvidia
>>108381584Use the Radeon Adrenaline tool to downclock the GPU clock by -100 MHz or so.Some of these chips tend to boost too aggressively and cause artifacts or crashes. If you do some research, this has happened since RX 5700 XT (RDNA1), Radeon card owners aren't surprised with these troubleshooting tips anymore.AMD's official spec notes a 9070 XT boosts "up to 2970 MHz", AIBs might add a few MHz on their specific cards after validation.
I've got a 3090, what's a good CPU to upgrade to?My current PSU is 650W and my current CPU has 95W TDP, but I dunno how it's gonna handle those CPUs which are ridiculously power hungry, so I might need to upgrade my PSU as well.
>>108381615Should I "accept" this or just try to get warranty for a 5070 ti instead? Idk shit about artifacting, but if it's already happened, isnt it like already "broken"?

>>108381627An i5 2500k.
>>108381584The warranties are usually a year or so once you register the product. What manufacturer is it?Artifacting can be caused by software. If it's overheating you can solve this with fixing the airflow in your case along with undervolting it. I had a 970 that would artifact. I never really figured out what the sole reason was, just that if I left my PC on for too long, which was only about 2-3 days on average, it would start doing it. So I just had to start turning it off. Could have been overheating, or maybe something in it just didn't like staying on for too long. Could have been Windows 7 itself. Either I made it work until I upgraded.
>>108381637KekOld case, basically a hot box cooking my components. I think the summer heat killed my ram once I moved to the desert.
>>108381660thats like a case designed to kill ddr5 ram
>>108381622What is your card model? Even a reference grade Sapphire Pulse can sustain around 3 GHz average boost.https://www.techpowerup.com/review/sapphire-radeon-rx-9070-xt-pulse/42.htmlIf your card needs to boost under 2.9GHz to prevent artifacts, I'd be disappointed.>Idk shit about artifacting, but if it's already happened, isnt it like already "broken"?If the artifacts appear while the GPU is boosting at above 3 GHz, the boost algorithm is just too aggressive for your GPU bin.The chip isn't broken in this case. 5070 Ti is too pricey atm. RMA will probably send you a refurbished card.
>>108381637Can you actually put a 3090 into that cpu? I guess pcie hasn't really changed since then but I feel like the standards for it back then would be a limiting factor in itself. Like putting a flash drive with usb 3.2 speeds into a usb 1.0 slot. So it kind of sounds like it would be a good idea to upgrade your cpu and motherboard. But then you'd have to upgrade your ram, and even ddr4 is getting expensive. You'd want a new PSU now that I think about it. You might as well just make a whole new PC in this case.
Should we start recommending people buy a ps5 pro if they only want to game? With the current pricing the price/value has shifted so far against pc now.

>>1083817131440p are typically 27" and youd have better media viewing experience on a 32" 4k, also it needs to be either miniled or oled to have decent contrast
>>108381542Some PC companies are in a spot where they routinely fuck over people but people keep buyingThey don't even try to look for the lesser evil, just continue buying Asus or whoever.I find it odd because with any other hobby, it seems really easy for people to admit that X company is garbage, but that type of stuff is almost ignored in the PC space.
>>108381713why would it be shitty
>>108381713I feel like I've seen this question before, and not sure if it's copypasta, but I'll answer anyway.I'm assuming it's because most anime is formatted to 1080p, at least until bluray rips become available. And then depending how old the anime is you might not even get that. So you'll either have to stretch it or deal with black bars. I'm pretty sure 1080p to 1440p shouldn't be too bad, but it might depend on the anime and what codecs are being used. I don't watch too much, never use fullscreen, and pretty much keep it windowed. You can always just keep your old 1080p monitor for anime. Or find a decent cheap TV and just hook your PC to that when you want to watch anime.

>>108381726I don't know, I hear people always comment on how shitty Asus' customer service is a crap shoot still. And Asus has never had a reason to make it better as people are still buying their products. It could be a loud minority kind of deal, especially since it's one of those things people don't really care to tell you how great the service was because it's expected it would. It would be nice to see reports of people who did get through to Asus customer service and have a good experience. And it's not like we have much choices. It seems like they all pretty much are shitty in some way. I remember people being pissed at MSi some years ago, and yet they're still around. I even bought one of their motherboards. Even with a decent amount of companies, it seems like they're all in a good position to be able to fuck over customers if they feel like it. Sapphire and PowereColor might the only two I've never really heard people complain about, but I'm sure someone has.

>>108381764And they can do it because people keep buying their products. Kind of like how GameFreak puts out subpar Pokemon games that break more than early access games, yet people keep buying them so they see no reason to up their game. >>108381853Next time don't buy from any of these companies directly. Buy from a third party seller, they'll usually have better return policies. >>108383186Modern DRAMless like the Samsung 990 Evo Plus (pic related) have a whole bunch of pseudo-SLC cache which, if not full, allows for the rated 7250/6300 mb/s transfers. If you fill it all up by transferring in a MASSIVE folder of 500gb's worth of 8K video files or something, then after about it's halfway done the speed will plummet down to ~1800 mb/s, because that's the "real" speed of the drive when not helped out by the cache. After being filled up, the cache will get "folded" at 1500mb/s, meaning after a few minutes of rest the drive will be up to speed again, because the data will have moved out of the cache and into permanent storage.Even at it's MINIMUM 1800mb/s speed the 990 Evo Plus is 3x faster than any SATA SSD no matter how high end it's DRAM cache is.>TLDR: DRAM don't matter for 99% of people.

>>108383250thats awesome
>>108383196Basically all non-reference graphics cards these days run slightly faster than the reference model by default so they can put OC on the box. There's pretty much always room for additional, user-configured OC because even high end cards stay within limits that are guaranteed to work with any on-spec chip and your individual GPU will most likely tolerate higher clocks.

Aside from the ASRock situation it seems to me from what I understand that the x3d are pushed hard from the factory and get cooked by the default settings on many mobos which push too much voltage on auto. So if you keep up on your bios updates and underclock you should be fine? Yet there's rumours of bad batches from AMD and that the CPUs themselves have issues. Last PC I built had a i5-4690k.

What do you guys think of the Movespeed Black Panther (gen4 Chinese SSD from aliexpress)? Cause SSD prices are fucking outrageous. My main concern was low quality NAND, but this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFPIrtPCtZ4 tested the 512GB model to over 8000TBW and it still kept going keeping up with the Samsung 990 Pro + they have a 5 year warranty. NAND and Controller seem to be MAP1602 + YMTC 232-Layer TLC similar to another chinese SSD that I've seen people test and get good performance (Kootion X16) and from the tests like the above and the other few videos and benchmarks around they seem to have pretty good performance with the only downside being the lack of DRAM (which their gen5 does have, and it did have performance on par with the crucial T705 Pro according to the test the same guy I linked did, but I don't think I want to spend the extra).
560Ti vs HD 5770 for a Windows XP gaming PC? Which one should I get? If I remember correctly the Radeon drivers back in the XP era were a mess but I want to dual boot Linux on the same system and Radeon works better on it.
>>108384391why go for budget cards if you're going out of your way to buy legacy hardware like that? they can't cost more than $10 just buy both.
>>108384404???They go from 20 to 30 bucks each on ebay and fb marketplace >why go for budget cards I want something cool (as in wattage), sure I could go for a 580 or 6870 for like 10 bucks more but they draw like a 100w more.
>>108384356>>108384359it's definitely quieter than the prime and swift from xfx. some get unlucky and get a card with a lot of coil whine (like me with my swift (which was also very loud on its own) before i replaced it with a hellhound). friend of mine got a prime very early on and it's kinda loud but not so bad if you use headphones. i run a seasonic g12 750w with my hellhound because it came with my pc and is alright. would go for a 850w with the red devil but 750w is enough with the hellhound if you run it as is. i also didn't like the stone and i liked how the hellhound has dual bios and a switch for that one led it has. i am running it with a 7800x3d which doesn't pull that much power for what it is. the hellhound has a silent bios which i haven't used yet. it also has six heatpipes which most "budget" (the reaper and prime are really budget) 9070 xt don't have.>>108384391/fwt/ also http://wp.xin.at/archives/5616
>>108384359You don't need anything more than an 850W PSU.You can get away with 750W, but the prices are usually similar.Montech Century II is the quality/value pick in the US. >>108384820https://videocardz.com/newz/geforce-team-says-jensen-will-showcase-future-of-real-time-rendering-at-gtc-2026this one is for gamers
>>108384826its kinda funny since almost no one is going to run the game at max rt to make use of RR since it runs at 40 fpsbut people keep doomposting about it like its a real issue
>>108384826do niggas really zoom in like this and look for shit like this
>>108384838The real issuei is that is a flawed tech as it does not upscale the rays and has a heavy performance cost 25% on the 9070 xt while RR its around 10%, then you add the fact that even on a 1/16 ray aymd game you hitting 40 fps at fsr performance at 4k and you get a full picture of how RDNA 4 will age when next gen games are released, especially because the 5080 is 40% faster than it, which means that even the 5070 TI has a solid 25% lead (the 5080 is 15% faster trhan it)
>>108384833The image isn't comparing FPS, static scenes will render the same between a 5070 Ti and 5080.>>108384838>>108384847There's over 20% FPS penalty for turning on Ray Regeneration on RX 9070 XT.
>>108384853https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-fsr-4-redstone/7.htmlfunnily that review said its an advantage amd RR doesnt upscale>Ray Regeneration is another strong addition. It doesn't radically change how ray-traced reflections or lighting look in a single screenshot, but it noticeably improves resolution, stability and reduces noise, which matters a lot once you start combining ray tracing with upscaling and frame generation. The performance cost is minimal, so there's no reason not to enable it in supported games. I also like that AMD's Ray Regeneration works completely independently of upscaling, whereas NVIDIA's Ray Reconstruction forces you to turn on DLSS Upscaling before you can use it. AMD's approach gives both developers and players much more flexibility in how they structure their rendering pipeline. The biggest problem here is game support—at this time just a single game is supported
>>108384808>outright lying as a cope
>>108384864>AMD's approach gives both developers and players much more flexibility in how they structure their rendering pipeline. Ray regeneration is only as good as the game devs' willingness to properly implement it.The game developer has to manually ensure that the denoised output correctly feeds into the next stage of the engine.Crimson Niggers devs did a bad job at it.
>>108384882Did they? AMD RR is still way better than the standard denoiser that seems botched in comparison with zero shading in areas where you expect it. The bigger issue is the fps cost while not being as good as nvidia.
>>108384882Not really the reason that the review said that was that it was done on COD which was only doing reflections, most of the performance cost comes from tracing bounes from light sources which it didnt have so any assumption about performance was foolish at best and deceptive at worst,
>>108384892You're seeing the pixelated, "boiling" artifacts in Crimson Niggers with Radeon Ray Regeneration on because the motion vectors or depth buffers are imperfectly aligned between the denoiser and the upscaler,
>>108384898>Not reallyYes, really.https://gpuopen.com/manuals/fsr_sdk/techniques/denoising/
>>108384905I dont remember that stuff from DF video but I wouldnt be surprised if the lower quality relates to RR not being performant enough so they fixed it by increasing some upscaling ratio.

>>108384922there are atx cases with less volume than this one. you are retarded.
>>108384911Anon that post literally proved my point, read it, you can literally see why the frametimes are bad and amd is garbage and the only reason it was performantive on cod was that it was only doing reflections (only needed a few signals)

>>108384953I literally told you, retard that the issue is not on devs, is the tech that is flawed and the retarded link you posted explicitly said so,
>>108384969Retarded devs failing to implement FSR denoising properly is a PEBKAC.NVIDIA's implementation basically enforces upscaling training wheels. You see how bad NVIDIA's implementation is given there's no Ray Reconstruction compatible with DLSS 4.5 models yet.I am right, you are wrong.
>>108384992It has nothign to do with training you moron, it has to do with how much frametime it takes for the denoiser to clean up signals, You cant possibly clean up that mess with that cost, because the upscalers simply has not enough information to work with
>>108385017NVIDIA's Ray Reconstruction being bound with a specific upscaling model is the reaason why GeForce card owners are stuck with Preset K and other DLSS 4.0 models when the new M and L are available. You keep arguing about muh frame time while missing the bigger picture.FSR's Ray Reconstruction would allow users to seamlesssly combine RR + the newest upscaler model in the future. The bottleneck for FSR is the game devs, this is the better implementation. Now shut the fuck up.
>>108384992>>108385040DLSS 4.5 unironically works better without denoising https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH599M-J6Hg You are unironically a midwit, you can see it on any game when you turn off the denoiser
>>108385045Look at this seething fruitcake, suddenly path tracing doesn't matter when it depends on Ray Reconstruction enabled?
>>108385050it never depended on ray reconstruction, it depended on the capability of your GPU to denoise and reconstruct rays are lower resolution AKA upscaling, the issue is that AMD cant properly upscale all the signals so it only separates the ones that is capable to do because its has no dedicated RT hardware, you are just a midwit
>>108385059>it never depended on ray reconstructionYou are arguing against NVIDIA's own materials.>Portal with RTX is a great example of Ray Reconstruction in action. With DLSS OFF, the denoiser struggles to reconstruct the dynamic shadowing alongside the moving fan.>With DLSS 3.5 and Ray Reconstruction enabled, the denoiser is trained on AI and recognizes certain patterns associated with shadows and keeps the image stable, accumulating accurate pixels while blending neighboring pixels to generate high-quality reflections.https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/ai-decoded-ray-reconstruction/You are the midwit who doesn't even understand the NVIDIA tech you're shilling.
I get nervous with the plastic hookd on case panels, I worry they will either snap from fatigue or go flying and get broken or scratched up half of the time.
>>108385083Anon DLSS preset 4.5 L and M are literally called RRLite at driver level,, as i said you are just a midwit, RR is just an upscaler, denosiing is mostly upscaling, you are just a fucking idiot
>>108385105What it says at the driver level is meaningless to what's available to customers atm. When you enable Ray Reconstruction, NVIDIA's drivers defaults to the older compatible DLSS models.RE9 with PT + Ray Reconstruction defaults to Preset K, not the newer DLSS models because Ray Reconstruction is bound to the older upscalers. You are the fucking idiot. Kill yourself.
>>108385116Anon please stop embarassing yourself and search what do denoising do
