A bit off topic but I think I figured out why there is a hardware shortage and everyone pushes AI so hard.They have spent hundreds of billions on AI, the technology seems to have hit a wall and we are now getting diminishing returns, which means that consumer hardware would be able to run models as good as chatgpt or gemini locally.The problem is that if you can run it locally, there is no way for them to make money and the whole thing will just crash.So now we have hardware companies not making hardware and the ones who do have all of their AI-related stuff bought up by the big AI players with backing from the US government.I don't think they will be able to succeed in forcing people to use their service, unless local llms get outlawed eventually.Thanks for reading my blog
