The press needs to stop covering events using their fucking iPhones, or any other camera that uses AI up-scaling. I've seen too many stupid conspiracies popping up because the AI up-scaling is fucking up the footage and photos. This has been a known issue for years now and it's only going to get worse now that everyone is starting to look for common mistakes in AI video to look for shit that is fake and gay for the sake of psy-ops. At this point if they keep using AI up-scaled footage it'll be impossible to ever figure out what's real.
At this point off the top of my head I'm pretty sure the Kamala plane no crowd reflection photo, the Charlie Kirk assassination ring video and now the Benjamin Netanyahu six finger video, have all been the fault of iPhone up-scaling, and I'm getting tired of nobody knowing about this or pointing it out. The more these hardware manufactures rely on AI up-scaling to make up for shitty lenses and cut costs the worse this problem will get too.

For any future historians, the Netanyahu video was AI
Completely fucked up hands (there were four fingers and a thumb, they just don't look like human fingers and there was some weird artefacting that could be interpreted as a sixth), a coffee that is way too full and weirdly does not spill, a man in the background that freezes for too long. These are but a few artefacts in the video.
Netanyahu may or may not be alive right now (probably in hospital), but the video is either fully fake, or manipulated.
Text model technology is mature and there is a lot riding on this war.
>>
>>108388462
>a coffee that is way too full and weirdly does not spill
I lost my shit when I noticed that. He takes quite a sip and nothing fucking happens with the amount of coffee. It was such an odd realization because I was about to call the people sperging about a bunch of schizos.
I stand corrected. They were right. I do not think he's dead, though. Probably just hiding his whereabouts, afraid of Iran.

kessler syndrome but for AI
we are fucking ourselves over before it could even begin
>>
I don't even think that video looks weird due to upscaling. People just get strange now that they know that there could be difficult to spot, near imperceptable clues about a fake video.
The cup doesn't spill because it's a flat white or some other microfoam drink, so the top bit has some surface tension. The level of coffee hardly changes because he only takes a tiny sip (because while he is ostensibly relaxed, this is a PR move, as all publications of any world leader are, and he doesn't want foam on his lip or to have to lick his lip, or it's too hot, but he needs to be seen drinking some of it), but you can see he did drink some because the floret is disturbed. AI video models wouldn't get that tiny detail right but the level wrong.
Eventually though, something is going to happen where all images are no longer trustworthy. Ask yourself though, is that a new thing? Have we been using images as a source of truth for a long time already? Have they been able to be faked before now? They have.
This is a little different because it's happening to video. They might create some kind of hardware attestation camera. Not sure. Whoever's in charge of that would be in a very important position for defining truth and evidence.
>>
>>108389455
Actually, to say a little more, have videos been all that trustworthy, despite us trusting them for so long?
How hard is it to hire actors? How hard is it to create a set?
Sure, it seems unlikely governments would do this. But if you think it's just their will stopping them, that should stop them from using AI video manipulation too.
It's not a matter of money either. Sets and actors are expensive, but so are training AI models.

The four fingers were a frame with a motion blur and the sixth finger looks like his palm. His skin got wrinkled because his old. Obviously that video was filmed in a bunker, upscaled and overproduced.
It's funny that this shit even triggered ANY kind of reply from Bibi, because the original wave of comments was clearly botted. The boomers running the Israeli agencies have no understanding of the Internet, got baited by trolls and now the theory has gone mainstream.
>>108388475
Because he actually doesn't takes a sip from the coffee. He makes it look as if he does, but it's all acting.
I remember in the second video there was cut after he drunk, showing his face clean in the next frame. The location is real, so are the surrounding details in it, so why he would be fake? Every AI parody of that video looked infinitely worse, more blurry and had more pronounced artifacts.
Bibi's retarded PR team has no concept of making a casual "home video" so it always something edited and overproduced. It doesn't have to be "iPhones Journalism" as OP implies. They probably thrown the source video into at least three filters because "Muh 4K so clean!" type of logic.

In response, Apple is going to train their post processing model on high resolution photos of the hollywood sign and it will insert a fake, high resolution one if it detects that's what you photographed.

Phone cameras are a joke, the raw signal you get from them is a disaster.

HDR on phones has kind of gotten better in the past few years on Android and I think iOS handled HDR this way years before Android did.

Newer Android phones now have support for HDR images and it behaves like HDR video does. It sounds like a stupid bullshit gimmick but it actually fixes the uncanny tonemapped look of smartphone pictures taken with HDR on because it just gets rid of the need for tonemapping entirely. HDR photos are the one thing smartphones are unequivocally better at because there are very few phones nowadays that don't come with an OLED that can easily sustain 1000+ nits across the entire panel, it's just that said photos fall apart when you zoom in.

I'm not saying that this is intentional....
But it is undeniable that multiple organizations and interest groups benefit greatly from making the truth harder to distinguish from frabrications.
If auto-enabled ai-powered, photo upscaling adds AI artifacts to otherwise legit photos, while at the same time image generation gets more realistic,
then it gets basically impossible to determine whats fake and what isn't.

Any legit photo with AI upscaling artifacts can get dismissed as "fake".
Any fake (or doctored) photo with AI image-gen artifcats can get excused with "phone cameras enshittify stuff by default, just cause there's artifacts doesn't mean that its fake".

And the worst part is that it largely doesn't even matter if there's a definite way to differentiate the two, most people won't know about it and the effect of obfuscating the truth is still mostly intact.

Here's your (you).
Go buy a fucking camera. They make cameras with real lenses, including digital cameras with actual lenses, and you can buy them. If you have the drive and technical know-how, you can use them too! I know, it's a rough concept to understand. Everything is a phone to you, but in the before times, we used to have separate gadgets for separate functions, and even now having specialized equipment for a single task usually makes it better for that single task if only so that can be a selling point for buying one instead of just a phone. Perhaps I'm out of the loop or not with it but having gadgets that perform a single function for a specific industry art or analysis can sometimes even boost performance with their simplicity, just in the beauty of eliminating distractions and shedding vestigial and ancillary "features" that have no business in a professional device meant for actual meaningful utility and performance. Like removing the TV screen from a car and replacing the infotainment +subscription +tip with something like physical buttons that you can navigate by feel while driving. Insane I know, but you can own an operate even an automobile that doesn't have a phone installed in it! Sure you give up a navigation system integrated in the dash, but you also give up direct on dash advertising when you don't subscribe to onstar premium plus!
Maybe some day I'll be proven wrong and having your tricorder comm-link infotainment vehicle and blowjob dispenser will prove to be the optimal method of performing any given task, but at present, if you want quality equipment it's best to buy something actually designed to do what you're trying to do.

It's so confusing seeing zoomers freak out about phone cameras as if phone camera were ever good in the first place. It's for taking ugly selfies not for photography.

Propaganda nowadays isn't about giving people fake news; the fake news exists, but the official propaganda channels never report it. Instead, they just tell you that the mainstream media cannot be trusted (since that's pretty much true) so you might as well pick a news story at random, and then they know that 50% of people will pick the fake news that way. I remember watching Russia Today on TV when the Ukraine invasion started, because I wanted to see how they were covering it. They didn't mention it at all, but all their news stories were stuff like "the mainstream media doesn't want you to know THIS about Joe Biden!!!" and "the EU have banned anyone from reporting this truth about immigration!!"

Once you can make people disbelieve the official story (and again, that's easy as shit), you can get your allies to put out any old shit and nobody will question it. The Russians are the best in the world at this; they've been doing it for decades.

Nigger, what is shutter speed? What is ISO? What is aperture? What is the exposure triangle?

Phones have fixed apertures, but their small sensors are insensitive as fuck so they usually crank up ISO very high even under sunlight. Turn down ISO, increase shutter speed and you have it.

I forgot 99% of people here have never done actual photography, just point and shoot at stuff in auto and try to give their niggerlicious opinion on something that's been figured out in the late 19th century.

We must make fake pixels illegal in phones and cameras or at least null and void as evidence.

Not an issue on my Sony Xperia phone
Still got headphone jack, SD slot and full screen with bezels.
If only GrapheneOS was compatible it would be the almost perfect phone, only issue is lack of removable battery

Are we just sandbagging the fact that at best AI is immediately going over pictures the second you take them, and at worst just scraping all visual data when the camera is active???

>AI upscaling is making everything look fake
Buy a Canon IXUS70 or any digital camera from the 00s for that matter and you will realise how fake and gay smart phone cameras are. The post-processing makes everything look synthetic.
>>
>>108411914
Now you can see the difference. The phone auto exposes and makes surface details visible on the moon. Then after the photo is taken, AI slop processing takes place.
>>
>>108388306
the point of AI upscaling is to make photos bigger without actual higher res sensors, thus pushing users to think they need more storage

I take most of my photos in 640x480 unless I have a reason to want high resolution
